Hello Brandon, my name is Elio and I live in Benalmadena, Malaga. Part of my family is also from Ronda. I only wanted to give you and Jacob one million thanks for this incredible video, I would never had imagined of something like this, made by an English/American guy and that perfectly represents what Semana Santa is for the people we live it. Finally thank you again for your work, really thankfull for that.

For many years I have beens; watching these semana santa activities in Spain but no English audio or sub title that would explain the viewers what thier doing and is really this tradition is all about. Congratulations to the team behind this documentary you gave us a better understanding the rich culture and traditions of the confraternity and the Spain in general. Hope you can feature those La Maacrena images from Andalusia and Seville thier preparation and how it's relevant this tradition to thier lives. Congratulations !!!

Hi Brandon, I just watched the film and the way you told the story touched me with many emotions. Just so you know, I was captivated and could not look away. I felt like I was there and now want to really be there one day. This director cut explained a lot and emphasizes how much went into making the film. Great job and thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing more of your work on this channel.

I've been going to the Malaga Processions for years, you really captured the emotions, the pain, the difficulty of manoeuvring and pride of the people, the atmosphere in Malaga that week is electric! I'd never seen a Passion play before, I think they're the exception rather than the rule?

¡Wow! Brandon, Jacobo and the rest of the team! Good job! Incredible shoots! I've seen the movie "Thrones of Semana Santa" and it was a very intimate film about how many passionate people here in Spain live this devotion, but maybe, what I've enjoyed the most was this "making of" because I could approach all the storytelling behind the film. Seriously, good job guys!

Usually anything related to the passion would be on Friday... Obviously the day has a lot of meaning weather it's when Jesus enters Jerusalem Sunday before, when he dies on Friday or when it's the Resurrection. From the passion to the Resurrection no bells ring on any churches (silence). I really like the shooting, nice view from a "tourist" point of view. The images are amazing the editing is really good. congratulations. Having said that, if you want to understand why, how, what is happening this is not the video you want to watch. Also the very dramatic view misses the actual feeling I have at every procession. This passion, this love, these tears that you get for example when someone is singing to the Virgen. (In the movie we see people singing but don't hear them). The speed also, everything is very slow, the walks the music (las marchas procesionales). It's just a hole feeling that I will deeply miss this year. This is obviously not a criticism. I understand this will not be the objective of a 8mins film. The footage is incredible, I'm very surprised of the quality and of how close you are to everything. This is really amazing. I feel like even me (when I'm not actually in the procession) I never get to have such a good view on everything with my own eyes! lol Every body be safe and may God protect you all Additional note: The passion of Andalucía is really good !

Brandon, I always come back to this video for inspiration. People dont realize how much the logistics comes into play with these videos. It's great you had some local talent that were willing to help you out. I notice a lot of slow-mo shots, and I was wondering if you are just constantly shooting in 60fps or do you bounce from 23.94 to higher frame rates? And just capture footage in both formats. I always struggle with filming in one or the other, because I dont want to miss a moment. Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks!

Wow, I am prepping to shoot a docu-series on restoration of properties in Bali, Indonesia later this year and I have to say, after seeing the footage you captured on the Sony DSLR, I am seriously reconsidering my production kit for this shoot. I thought I'd made up my mind we'd go with iPhoneXs Max using Filmic Pro app and post on iPad Pro using LumaFusion, but I'm going to now have to really weigh that up. The images in your film are exceptional and I assume you had to capture most or all with available light. Really impressive Brandon. Thanks.

Hi Brandon! I Outstanding achievement, I really like how you have captured this making it filmic but maintaining the rawness with the voices of people. I spent my childhood Easters in Alicante and I remember the procesiones vividly. Seeing this now it I should have tried Benalmadena too! Of note, I really like how you break the storyline into episodes. Probably my fav video of yours is Balinese, and I missed seeing that. Just a a quick question you get always thrown at (sorry if gets tiring), what PP you used and did you use Luts? I'm using the a7s2 for a year now and I just moved away from Standard CS to try PPs. So far I've started trying two 1) EOSHD Canon PP 2) Cine4 (MattFlat). Honestly I like the the Canon striaght-out look but I feel I should give a chance to Cine4. For the latter, I'm using Deluts. I would be keen to understand your PP/Lut workflow for this :) Cheers!
