It was fantastic to see so many great entries coming in for the short film competition, and the popularity and success of the film competitions this year means that we will be running film competitions every year from now on. There were entrants from four different year groups and the standard of film making was very impressive across the board. The judging panel would like to thank and congratulate all the entrants as the quality of films was excellent and made it very hard to judge. The judging panel consisted of Mr Wilkins (with an eye for photography and artistry), Mr Harknett (with an eye for editing and performance), and Mr Seaton-Burn (with an eye for narrative and construction). It was a very close run thing with the judges split between a couple of entries. The results are as follows:
All winners and runners up will be receiving an Amazon voucher.
1st place - Jasmine - This was a really well considered film, with an original angle. It was well constructed and put together, communicating a clear narrative. Lots of creativity on display with the musical accompaniment too. The judges really liked the voice over.
Runners up (in no particular order):
Albert - Another very original film. A clear concept which was well realised. Good editing and lots of creativity on display with the musical accompaniment.
Evie - This was a beautifully shot film that was well edited. Creativity in the shot construction was impressive. It was shame it ended so abruptly!
Daisy - A really well balanced film with some excellent shots. A well-constructed short film which, with the voice over, allowed for a clear narrative to carry through.
