though I didn't come up with the game move after a short think, I'm happy that Judit's game popped up in my mind even before you mentioned it. I knew that game and appreciate it so much, probably because I also appreciate Judit greatly. Great analysis as always, sir!

I saw g4 immediately thanks to that Judit game you analyzed, beautiful!

"How do you play with White?" The same way I play with Black, quite badly

A very entertaining game and some engaging and erudite analysis. Great stuff all round.

Great one! The move g4 in order to secure the following break up of the h file is an extremely educational pattern, especially for an amateur like me. And in fact Nxg4 made things worse for black, opening the g file as another attacking line for white.

"This is just too weird for words." Thanks Daniel for this jewel and (again!) for your fantastic commentary, which make this game digestible for a mere human. Very impressive!

Thank you Daniel - a great lesson! I saw h4 but not the fact that g4 is the primer. Looking forward to trying that one day at the club!

G4 was one heck of a move! Only Predke and a drunk and tilted Simon Williams would find that. That's the kind of idea that's worth remembering for future games. Cheers

At first my computer didn’t like Queen c7. It recommended Oceans 11 and Babylon 5. Then I realized I was on IMDB.

I wanted to play h4 and I wonder if I'd thought about it longer, g4 would have occurred to me block the pawn. I love this concept. c5 was also my preferred move rather than Rxh7. Totally crushing

I found g4 during your slurp of tea, also because it reminded me of the Polgar game! I got it from a book of Simon Williams, How to crush your chess opponents. Very instructive idea to fix the hook and preventing the postition from being blocked and closed!

The move sequence after 23. a3 Qb2+ 24. Qb2 Bb2+ 25. Kb2 fe4 doesn't help black. Black loses a rook after 26. Rf4+ Ke7 27. Rh7+ Ke8 28. Bh5+ Kd8 29. Rf8.

I saw g4...but only because you had prompted us. Otherwise, I'd definitely have played f4 and pressed the clock. It would be amazing to be alert at every move rather than making routine/automatic moves most of the time (that's my patzer-style).

Watching this wonderful analysis, I was wondering why Black did not play the desperado Qxb2+ after or before a3. As I worked it out, it might be a nice quiz question to solve :)

Well, I did guess the g4 move, as I remembered the concept from the Polgar game. And I saw c5, but thought it could have been played right after Bxd4. Oh well . . . .
