Cela me rappelle de très bon souvenirs pour avoir eu le privilège d'être plusieurs fois face à lui. Même avec les vidéos il est très difficile de se rendre compte des sensations que cela procurait quand il vous bloquait, projetait, attaquait....

RIP Sensei Taiji Kase. I’m so privileged to have had known him, trained, advised, and rewarded by this Great Master in the late 70s. He was one Of the 5 Masters sent by JKA at the time on a mission to promote Shotokan Karate in the 5 continents , and he was also a direct student of Sensei Gishin Funakoshi: The father of modern karate, from Okinawa. Ouss Sensei

you don't see him performing a maé-geri!...even with more than 20 years shotokan...the only thing that you see is his partner who is throwing 3m back ... it's as if he was standing still...a good thing he did is stop competing with the French team...the character was another level

An excellent example of how karate's deep in term of philosophy and effectiveness. For those who think karate sucks, especially in the ring, karate is a SELF-DEFENSE. In the ring, your opponent is ready and concentrate. In the street, he'll be took by suprise, and be K.O. at the first movement you would do with karate.

+madmurphy It works, you just have to devote your life to it, just like Kase did. Which is something no one wants to do.

@@taghasth It's your right to believe whatever you want to believe, even if that belief is that this man, who dedicated his entire life to the art, simply did that so he could fool people like you that they are better fighters than they actually are, 30 years later, on the internet. But since you watched the video, I assume that you're actually interested in karate to some extent; so if you want some insight into what it's actually all about, feel free to ask. I'm not a master, but I've practiced Kase's specific school of shotokan (Kase-Ha Shotokan Do) for 8 years, and I can tell you without a doubt that this has transformed my life. Hope to hear from you, Oss

It's this type of training or get in a boxing ring and get the sh*t kicked out of you. I know what I'd prefer. This type of training isn't necessarily for people who fight for a living. It could be argued it's for people who may never have a fight in their life. Work that one out
