@@iqrarizvi3918 “Jimin, you got no jams”: So, the “no jams” sounds really similar to “노 잼“ in Korean. (”잼“ is a slang word for “재미다-to be fun. And “노” is another form to say “no”, because it sounds almost the exact same as English) In conclusion, Namjoon technically said: “Jimin, you’re no fun”. That is why we now have the *iconic* line: “Jimin, you got no jams”! 😂😂😂

So I'll just come back later and study by dividing into parts depend on how much free time I have. Usually I'll study around 40mins after breakfast, then around 30/40mins after lunch. And if I have the time in the evening/night, I'll study the rest... 😊 Side note : I really glad that I found ur channel, and thankful for ur teaching, for all the time and energy spends to teach us Korean... 진짜 너무 아주 고마워요, 빅키 샘... 😘 화이팅하십시오, 여러분~~~~ 💪😊

This channel has been a tremendous help with my journey in learning Korean. I've been pairing your lessons with Duolingo, which isn't that bad. The only downfall is Duolingo doesn't teach grammar rules. You come across new grammar formats on there and get confused as to why a sentence is that way. With your lessons, I can follow better on Duolingo and learn new vocabulary. Thank you, Miss Vicky!

Hi Vicky, No Jam haha around 1:17.06 , just wanted to say that jam is also slang word for American musicians (usually rock -n- roll) to mean to get together and jam (short for jamming)... meaning to practice music, and sometimes means to play spontaneously something never played before on the fly (e.g adlib). And yes... jamming is fun!!

My technique to learn fast in your korean was that, I relate korean to my native language on how they form the sentence and actually its closer than in using english. The technique was Korean to English then English to Native.. after translation just remove english, use Korean to Native and relate it.

Im not any advanced level but from what I know, the most literal translation for this one would be "as for Jisoo, her height is tall and as for Jeff, his height is short" So in this case, u use 는 to show who you are talking about, and at the same time to show contrast (both are actual usages of 는/은 particle) and 가/이 to show what is 'adjective' However, this specific sentence is a fixed expression in Korean I think, when you wanna say someone is tall/short you use that structure...

The nuance of 이/가 and 은/는 could be understood with some examples. 지수는 키가 크고 제프는 키가 작아요. It is just fact. No emotion. But if you are asked 지수는 키가 작아요? then you can answer 아니오, 지수가 키가 크고 제프가 키가 작아요.

I can only imagine how hard it must be to learn this at school. I went for a different approach. I started with some duolingo then started reading actual books in korean (on the side just breezed through some grammar just enough to be able to get the meaning of the sentences - ignored all conjugation tables, rules and stuff). Only after a while when i was kind of used to the language I looked up these lessons I kind of intuitively knew the answers and it all kind of makes sense because if it were different it would either sound weird or be hard to pronounce. Example: 재미있은데 would be weird (and there is no room for adding ㄴ batchim) so the only option is 재미있는데. Trying to figure out what is an adjective or verb and what rule to use when and all the exceptions and stuff (as they like to teach at school) is just so much harder and demotivating (at least for me). If you dont like learning this way i suggest you try this as well. just pick a fun book (preferrably a book that you've read before) use a good dictionary like naver and after a few months return to the lessons. You're gonna have muuuuuch easier time.
