We bought this - cheaper than building our own. Added an omlet automatic door (horizontal). Fits 4 well. Ours free range several hours a day, so no pecking problems. Also added a 1x4 on the roosting bar. Very happy

We have this coop. Got it for free from my in-laws who weren’t using it anymore. We reinforced it and painted it. My husband built a detachable run that’s maybe 12 feet long. We have six hens and they all fit on the roosting bar at night, but it’s a tad snug. I don’t think a seventh hen would fit. I let them free range for a few hours in the mornings and have had no issues with pecking. I do think I’ll show the roost upgrade to my husband so he can hopefully get that done before winter sets in.

We just bought this unit. We don’t even have our chickens yet, but we wanted to be ready for them. I’ve been planning, watching dozens of videos on the birds, coops, tunnels, etc., and how to keep feed and water as automatic as possible. Having a portable chicken tunnel is essential for taking over our suburban grass-covered back yard. Growing food will be necessary for the coming shortages. I agree with you that this coop is the best deal for the money. Atwood’s advertised a cheap wooden coop, but it was not the one that was for sale; I thought more highly of them than that. It might have lasted 18 months. For the same money, this powder coated steel model from Tractor Supply checked all our boxes. God bless you and your all and your chicken adventures.

That’s the coop we have. We have two of them also. We have enclosed them in an enclosed run. We have been impressed with the coop so far. We just put our chickens in the coops yesterday and they appear to be very happy in it. They are perching and generally adjusting well to their new home. The coop is well constructed and seems very secure. It has a;asphalt roof, steel frame and wood panels. It is heavy though and requires at least two strong people to move it. The cost was reasonable considering the quality of the coop. I agree that it may not hold six chickens. I have five pullets in one and four in the other. I wouldn’t want to put more than five full grown chickens in the coop and would probably recommend four. But if they are just in it overnight, I guess maybe six would be ok. If you live where weather in bad and the chickens would be in it all day, the. Rethink six full grown chickens in the coop.

I have been looking at this coop online. I am thinking of getting it for a brooder, chicken hospital and time out pen. It seems much sturdier than most of the other pre fab coops. I do wish there was a window somewhere and there doesn't seem to be any ventilation. But I can modify it I suppose. I think it would be a good purchase for what I need.

I just bought this coop because of your video. $370 including tax. Got the last 1 my local TSC had in stock. Took about 3 hours to assemble. PVC hinge cover, roof cap, nesting lid, lid hinges, and lock latch had to be drilled by me. They weren't pre-drilled. Screw heads can strip easily, so be careful when tightening them. It's a great coop construction wise. I'm very happy with my purchase. That metal frame construction was 1 of the biggest reasons I purchased this 1. Others I researched with 1x frames didn't seem as sturdy.

@@lreavis2 I wouldn't pay that much for it. I thought $370 was to high. 8 months later on mine the door latch on the nesting box broke off. The rivets popped. I had to run a chain around the outside with very small pad locks to keep predators out. Other than that, the coop is holding up. All 5 chickens survived Ky. winter. That includes the past wind storms that took my house roof. Cleaning out chicken poop and other debris from the main area below the nesting box is difficult. The entry door is narrow, and it's easier to clean out with a child's garden ho also available at TSC.

Ours fits our 10 girls lol, we are in the process of building a new coop. I really loved this one but we have too many chickens to keep them in it forever. I live in the South so snakes are a really big fear. (not in just the hen house either) I find the locks on ours are as much adult proof as predator proof, seriously. 😂 Our girls are 12-13 weeks and we are finding that the one roosting bar isn’t enough.
