끌림(cclim)was established in 2016. We have run advertisement business with the seniors who collect wastepapers. To improve their working condition and profits, we have lightened the weight of the carts by 30kg and provide them 60% of advertisement profit as monthly income. With these seniors who we call 끌리머(Cclimer), we will continue to expand our business until all of those wastepaper collectors can proudly introduce themselves as Cclimer.

Ideally that's what our culture is. But the sad reality, the Philippine's is declining (even before the pandemic), cost of living is still going higher, while too our national debt. Maybe elder Filipinos who are in middle to higher class could get care, of which they can enjoy their life, and no need to search for work (with low probability of employment), to collect recyclables, or worst beg for money on streets. What I am saying is culture is good but not enough to protect our elderlies in general. The PH government still needs to step up further.

Wow... I'm blown away. Bless these students. They could have just stayed in their safe cocoons in this extra ordinary times, but there they were, going the extra mile to help and cheer these elderlies. Watching this somehow rekindled my faith in humanity. Kudos to everyone who conceptualized and made possible this undertaking. Salute!

I really hope a systemic solution can be found so they don't need to stay cardboard collectors or anything like that. Just doesn't seem right a country like South Korea to have this sort of poverty problem. I can tell from the things she says that cultural aspect is involved, but there must be a way either through pension system or some other for this to stop being a common sight on the streets. Big thumbs up for these wonderful students, their work and attempts to make the situation better! Even though even the students seem to have accepted the situation, I still wish elderly to have different life than that.

I like learning about the social issues in S Korea. This story broke my heart. This woman seems to be fine with her life, but it still seems like it would be a hard life to live. There are just so many elderly living nearly destitute on the streets in S Korea. It's so opposite of the modern, convenient lives of younger South Koreans. Is there no social security over there? I'm not very happy with the US (where i live) right now, and I'm usually envious of S Korea, but I am glad that in the US at least the elderly have social security income.

My point of view, the first old lady said she does not want to be a burden to her children, but what theyre happy to take care of her. Same thing with her children when they get old, they will say the same thing to their children so this mindset is being passdown to the next generations, resulting to many old people live and support themselves in SK which it is sad to see them on the street. Why they do not let their children to take care of them? Im sure there will always things to do if they want to be active living with the family.

South Korea is one of the richest countries in the world , its GDP is more than 50 times the north korean GDP and yet it has this sad problem of elderly poverty , the elderly lady in the video kept saying that she did not want to be a burden to her children which clearly means that the children though employed r unable to help their mother financially.

The shame of Korea. The government spends billion upon billions subsidizing big business, the construction industry and the banking sector. But comes nearly last on social welfare spending, including for the elderly, among OECD countries.
