You've created lovely spreads for the books, adding the books to my TBR 🍄

As I was watching I was thinking it was quite brave of you to read the original, love it so much and then tackle the retelling soon after! I would have been so afraid that one would have felt like a letdown compared to the other 😅 🍄

Can I recommend the short story “The Human Chair” by Edogawa Ranpo? He is a Japanese writer and was heavily inspired by Edgar Allan Poe (even his pen name is a japanese version of E.A.Poe’s name).

so would you recommend reading what moves the dead first and then the fall of the house of usher?

I would recommend reading The fall of the house of usher and then rereading it if you want to linger more in that atmosphere lol Having read it, I wouldn't really recommend What moves the dead.
