I Iiked your video. Just the right length for a booktube video. Some go on and on and on.

Tempest is phenomenal! Definitely great one to go to if you don't read a lot of poetry I think, quite accessible. If it isn't in that collection, their spoken word Peoples Faces has a really moving animated video on yt.

Fingers crossed for Luna New Moon hits you in the right mood. Enjoy your walk with pubs you may or may not be crawling to as you have a crime tour - sounds like alot of fun 💜📚

Our tastebuds long again for envelopes, and hands for notes in class the teacher tore. As safe as when communion wafers broke; you blessed yourself. You cast your signature. Let’s write and give the birds something to do; a heart’s confession on the talon tied. Return the princess to the pigeon coup; her patient eye against polluted skies. Too little wind in blue, green, sails of text as letters fall from birds believed extinct, and caught and crinkled on a mailbox chest the moment cursive graced the eye again. Their flapping wings will fan away the smog as ink's the oil spill upon thy heart.

Cities in Flight sounds wonderful. SF Masterworks has never let me down. I also started (but didn't finish) Luna: New Moon. Hopefully your experience this time through is a bit more enjoyable. I'll be reading a bunch of short novels for the Shorty September event. Midworld, Hospital Station, and To Be Taught, If Fortunate are among the sci-fi books on my TBR. I'm reading my first Marie Brennan novel, Driftwood, as well. Should be a good reading month.

Sounds like some great plans for September! I’m starting R Scott Bakker in September, and also reading The Changeling by Victor Lavalle. Just to name a couple lol.

I used to listen to a lot of true crime podcasts (I was a devoted Murderino!), but it became a bit much for my mental health and I had to cut back. It's still a subject that intrigues me, though!

I saw Kae Tempest live last year and it was great, never tried their books.

🌙 I exclaimed out loud upon seeing “Luna” get mentioned (though the page corner turning… 🥹) as I had that book on my original September TBR (but not my current September TBR which I need to tweet about tomorrow now that I mention it on 31st August). I’ve had it shelved since 2018 but interest renewed upon watching The Secret Sauce of Storycraft recently, who did a lunar themed episode.

Books are meant to be enjoyed and potentially folded. I hope you haven't moved Luna to far down your tbr list!
