I saw Max and Igor playing live in Berlin. It was apotheosic! Such a great energy! Sepultura, the pride of southamerican Metal lml With a doubt, one of the best bands in this planet back in the 90s!
Roots was a game changer -it was so different than their previous albums and very different at the time of release... no one had mixed metal with elements of funk and punk so seamlessly while keeping it heavy AF until this album. . Roots has Hints of ACDC and Helmet type repetitive chunky looping riffs which gives the songs major punch - Roots, while still heavy was a shift from "head-banging" to "jump the fuck up" - Early hints of what Max would do with Soulfly
