I just purchased a seedling serviceberry to plant along forest edge for the birds and other wildlife, so was excited to see this video in playlist. I just loved learning about the folklore behind the serviceberry.

My dad grew up on a mountain in Tazewell County VA. The first I heard of Sarvice was when I interviewed him in preparation of writing family stories for my kids. Very interesting. Hungry in winter, they ate anything that moved except skunk!
