Chris . . . buddy . . . How to pour any fluid from a vessel with an off-set spout, as taught to me ( and a zillion other older folks in days gone by by even older folks, typically dudes, who have passed on and only live in memory -- and explaining why the spout is off-set. After loosening the cap, before removing it, position the spout closest to you such that when tipped the spout will be at the top of the vessel in your hands as you pour. This will prevent 'gluggling', an intermittent vapor-lock, giving you greater control and a much better chance of not making a mess. I say older folks because I am older than your uncle. I learned this 'anti-gluggling' trick when the grandfatherly ( to me ) husband of the lady next door ( who I later learned had taught my mother to play piano around 1940 ) saw me struggling to fuel and oil a lawnmower sometime around 1963-4 and intervened in my struggle.

I must admit, that I was somewhat surprised when you decided to have the Rock Truck painted. Mainly, because I am sure that painting a truck of that size has got to be quite expensive. But, in thinking about it, I know that you have always liked your machines and machinery to be always kept clean and as new looking as possible, so painting the Truck should not have been a surprise to me.

You definitely spruced it up!!! Especially seeing it now as it was again. Haha. I used to love doing this part of the work on the Ranch. It was a dozen 1/2 tons, 3 or 4 diesel 3/4 and 1 tons of varying mixes as the years went by. A half dozen tractors, 1 loader and two telehandlers, 2 skid steers, and a myriad of anything from a 3.5 hp mower to one of the Honda Pioneers. It could keep you pretty busy. We actually had one guy hired just for mechanic work. It kept him doing that about 3/4s of the time, but he worked on the seeders, discs, cultivators etc headers for the swathers and combines, corn harvester, etc. he would work in the fields or with the cattle otherwise. I just helped. It’s great sending them out to work with nothing needing fixed or done! As we have seen, the haul truck is performing very well!! All the best Chris!!

You need get that oil pan cart that Diesel Creek has. It holds at least 10 gallons and has a set of wheels. He also has the tray that goes on a ibc container for draining oil without making a big mess and on it especially draining filters.

Volvo original filters have a hexpattern and volvo also sell a socket that fits the bottom of the filters and you can use real tools to remove the filters, fast and easy :) also check the oilfilterhousing so the rubber seal from the old filter was removed with the filter and its not stuck up there AND you must feel the threaded part so it has not come loose and possibly dropping the filters all of the sudden

A friend made me a nifty filter holder out of an old brake rotor and several different chunks of pipe. Makes that filter fill process much less risky when you can hold the jug with both hands. Just got Moby (white KW T680) back from its annual inspection and a full service. I like seeing that nice new oil on the dipstick, and zero restriction on the fuel filters.
