@ManosRK
10 жыл бұрын
MarcusSpetim Yeah! I was gonna say the same (I'm Greek)! The softer version is kinda like soft chewy-vanilla flavored toffee and it's always sandwiched with vanilla wafers in the shape of a stick or a bar and it has a kind of nuts mixed in, usually almonds but others too AND we use honey instead of glucose and sugar

Late to the party, but if you want to use the microwave over the stovetop, place the sugars in a bowl, microwave on high uncovered for 4 minute or till it starts to bubble. Take out, mix then throw in your seeds, mix microwave on high again uncovered for 3-5 minutes, stirring every minute. After that, as soon as you take it out of the microwave giving a small stir pour fast onto the parchment paper as it will still be very hot and easy to work with. Roll to desired thickness and your done. The end result in my opinion taste wise is VERY similar to the bought stuff (I can get from a brand Waterbridge.) This is actually a bit better but over all nearly identical. It comes down to how much or little you toast your seeds. Very simple and easy recipe, nothing complicated. Sometimes easiest is best. Thanks for the great recipe!

Lovely recipe David! After a horrible experience just making Patty Toffees I think I'll just buy these! I can still find the regular Golden Days brand Sesame Snaps in my local Coles, Woolies etc (not sure why you can't find them but I guess each store is different, I live in Metro Sydney so we might be getting a lot more products then other stores) They have new flavors now too! Dark Choc (it's got a ripple of Choc on the top of it), Fruit and Nut, Black Sesame and Yoghurt ripple topped ones! I'm yet to try those! They are usually in the Health Food section with all of the fruit snacks and bars on the bottom shelf :)

Sugar is actually not that bad for your teeth. It dissolves quite quickly. You should be more concerned about stuff that lingers between your teeth, like potato chips and bread.
