🐹 Welcome to our latest video where we will show you how to set up a bioactive terrarium for your hamster! In this video we will explain step by step how to create the perfect environment for your furry friend, including a special group of helpers - the floor police!
To start with, we'll put a lot of emphasis on choosing the right plants such as golliwoog, cat grass, rodent grass and daisies. Not only do they create a natural atmosphere, but they also serve as hiding places and food for the hamster.
A key ingredient is expanded clay. A thick layer of expanded clay at the bottom of the terrarium helps to drain excess water and prevent waterlogging. On top of this is a layer of coco soil, which supports plant growth.
And now for the soil police! It consists of small isopods, springtails and other microorganisms. These help to decompose organic materials such as the hamster's droppings and dead plant parts. This keeps the terrarium cleaner and maintains the ecological balance.
The setup should also provide hiding places, climbing opportunities and tunnels for the hamster. Don't forget to include natural materials such as cork tubes, wooden branches and grass nests to create a diverse environment.
In our video, we show you all the steps for setting up, caring for and maintaining the bioactive terrarium. Your hamster will feel at home in its new environment and you can observe the fascinating dynamics of a natural habitat.
