I have nostalgia for early episodes. It literally feels reliving my childhood watching old family guy. First 2 seasons were the golden years. The first few seasons after the show was revived in 2005 were pretty good too. While they lacked the character of the first couple seasons, the writing still felt fun. There were still good episodes here and there up to the early 2010s, but by then the show overstayed it's welcome. It's not just because the writing, but how many years will Stewie be a year old? While having characters that never age can create solid character roles, too much time causes characters to become convoluted as the characters mature due to 100s of episodes character development.

I don’t know if Fox does this but some networks like Cartoon Network won’t let you make a show unless you agree they ultimately own it. If a I remember right Gravity Falls managed to avoid this pit fall because Bill Cipher has appeared several times outside of Disney with even some continuity happening in other shows and the creator is apparently writing a book on Bill Cipher that’s for an older audience called “The Book of Bill”
@monty_coolmccool

@@Broomer52 Disney owns Gravity Falls. Bill appeared in Simpsons, which is owned by Disney, the continuity continuing through shows like the Owl House and Amphibia is because they are also owned by Disney, and the Book of Bill is being published by Hyperion Avenue Books, an adult novel subsidiary of Disney. Hirsch does not own Gravity Falls, as much as he'd like to. What Disney does not own is Hirsch's writing, creativity, and voice work, so they can pretty much not continue the show properly without him, which as it stands he doesn't want to do

The Orville is fantastic!!! A sci-fi comedy television series was wonderful breath of fresh air for the genre. I could be wrong, but I think the creaters of Star Trek must have seen the popularity of the Orville and wanted to take advantage of how much people seemed to enjoy a sci-fi comedy. They created the "adult cartoon," and it too gas been really good. YOU GO SETH MCFARLANE, YOU GO!!!
