It is a combined road-rail route that passes through the middle of the Seto Inland Sea, the first national park in Japan to be designated as a national park, and is located in the middle of the beautiful archipelago of the Seto Inland Sea.
It was the first of the three Honshu-Shikoku bridges to be opened to traffic in 1988.
The route is 37.3 km long by road and 32.4 km long by rail, and the six bridges spanning 9.4 km of the strait are collectively called the Seto Ohashi Bridge.
The world's largest series of bridges, including suspension bridges, cable-stayed bridges, and truss bridges, is a spectacular sight.
The orange-roofed hotel is abandoned.
The entire island was planned to be developed as a resort, but it failed to attract visitors and was abandoned.
