phase basically adds one half wave of delay at 180deg BUT this delay can also help with group delay and might help bring the subs into alignment with the doors

Good job JV, most overlooked feature of amps IMO. Bring your bass up-front without time alignment. If you're interested, quick way to try it...Keep your mids running, flip sub phase, have someone slowly turn the knob while you play tones in the crossover region. Listen for quietest bass. Flip phase back and bass should be up front and more detailed. Blew my mind first time I tried

The phase can used by lots of things , little time adjustment , if you have 2 subwoofer both fire in front and they not at the same position... or you have 3 subs left right and one in the rear so you need the phase too.. but for 180° you can change the wire polarity +/- -/+ 😊 i use a time aldjustment for my Musicroom.. the result 152,9 Dezibel at home 😁

Sir is it true that if we say the phase is 0 then the output wire of the amp to sub is reverse instead ++ - let change into + is to - then the other terminal of the sub we put the negative terminal from the amp. The sound wave/bass of the sub is in the box? Is it true? Then the bass of the sub is much better than the right polarity between amp and sub or the bass is in like crawling ? Is it? Or if the amp and sub are is in the coreect polarity the bass of the sub is throw straightly outside.
@dietershobbypakanal

@@akolngto9314 normaly the polarity is the right way + to + and - to - of the sub.. only you have a dual voicecoil sub and you want more ohms the you do the sub + in + and from the - go to the next vc + and in the end of the second the - the duble the ohms , for minimum ohm load parallel +and - in same but attention your amp must can do this ohm load... more is no problem but low ohms can damege your amp.. with the polarity you must test in your car but normaly is the pole the same.. if you backfire in the car its the same , but its all in acoustic a test... you cant say yes that must be so and so.. testing and mesurement 😊 you can see on my channel a little bit.. if it helps you , i dont know... iam very ill , would do more Projekts but no money for that anymore.. cant work now anymore... if you have a idea for a video , you can write in the comments on my channel 😊

I’m more on the SQ side of car audio. Phase is important for matching between speakers such as your sub to your mid bass. If it’s correct you won’t have a dip in response where they meet. If incorrect, you’ll see a dip. In SQ it could also have issues because of time alignment. When it’s right and all balanced it’s amazing. The sound, even your sub will be playing on your dash or out over your hood like you’re watching a concert in front of you. Here is a great video that helps explain it a little. kzitem.info/news/bejne/u6WQ33ipfYWSeo4

I thought all that phase did was reversed the polarity for inverted subs. I've seen it on alot of headunits too. I know on some pioneer radios it even shows a sub and when you change the phase it shows it reversed.

It did prove something. It proved that set at zero is the correct setting. Excellent test that will show the basics of phase. A better test would be on another vehicle with more than one sub. A good example would be the SPL van called Astro and Bass where 2 of the 18 inch subs are run on the back of the extremely deep baffle and 2 are run on the front of the baffle. This is done to try to align the bass wave from the two different sets of subs when it reaches the microphone. I am sure the phase control would make a much larger difference in that case. Good work Jacob!

One use of phase: I run multiple subs and amps. I wire individual coils to my amps. I switch polarity on one set of amps to make the coils oppose each other. Then match gain and phase. When the subs have no movement they are set equal. Then switch the polarity back. You will have the exact number of watts per sub and gain and phase will be set correct. I’m sure I didn’t explain it in enough detail. I’ll try to find more detailed info and post in the comments.

@@ernardbonny997 i have a wolfram w4500.1 and if I had 2 I wouldn't strap them. I would rather just gain match them. It all depends on what coil configuration you have too. I have 3 subs on my amp wired to .67ohms if I had 6 subs on 2 amps i could gain match the amps at .67 each but if I strapped them i would be at .33 and it would be half of that at each amp. Or I would have to go to 1.33 and each amp would see .67 but I would prefer to have them gain matched running separately. Its all preference really. I have heard that they tend to do better when they are not strapped.

If ur at 12db ur 180 out of phase so then ud go 180 out of phase and now its playing "in phase"
@TheSpazzattack95
2 жыл бұрын
-6db 90 degree phase, -12db 180 phase, -18db 270 phase, -24db 360 phase(which is "0") then starting over again but going lower into the db. Like 48db thats two full 360s so there for ur back to zero. Your phase is in relation to how much is produced as its time. The wave will be certain length to get to ur ears, thus mids nd bass will lower frecuencies by how ever many db making the cancelation but phase from what ive seen really shows u how much ur going to hear and feel i think? i am thinking from what ive seen based on my setups as to i always tuned by ear but now i made a sub box for 4 tens and ive tuned by multimeter im a noob at it but im smart with it as i been learning looking up all about everything car audio/audio engineering. Without all the knoledge i was getting killer output but my phase in relation to my subs now was more, due to my amp haveing a set 24db cut off and my deck cant shut off its crossover deck is cutting by -6db per octave lowering my lows sooo much to were its almost not felt, but it peaks nicely and hits on the peaks very nice but my phase is 450 degrees out, if i were able to turn off my decks lpf id be at 360 giving me acoustical quality but itd be felt more and heard more. As well ive seen that a l circuit which is essencialy a 6th order crossover i thing it is speaker attenuation (speaker is not exurting to tits due to the loss in frecuncies (phase?)) But 5th order crossover i dont remember the name is supposadly (independance sumthing forget stability i think?) I only seen that on one site tho but from my subs im running a 5th order crossover and it is close to not moving (speaker attenuation) so whith my system/graphs/every other thing i have learned on it put into my words i rlly think it should be looked at moree soo, iff!! Your running really steep slopes/ my system is pushing only .200acv out of my pre outs which means i am rlly having to gain that signal more eseenctialy to hear it more but thats sure clean signal but ampped up soo much that i got plus 4 peaks. So theres too much to rlly just talk of phase in my thought. Im happy though people are testing it i do want to learn more on it and im aleays looking on it but it truly comes down to the crossovers the parts and whats actually happening.. hence when people say the lpf filter on a amp lies to u if u set it in the middle and it said that was 80 lets say.. well thats most likely wrong. Signal is amped by circuits so if it sees that signal high or low it has to take it and boost it but thats boosting noise too as u lower volume and boost sumthing what are you left with? I think i kindagot carried away in thought ahah but ya i think we all should be learning of whats truly goin on so amazing video jacob keep up the kill work.
