Karl with a K, and I say that because my father spelled his name with a K also, greetings to you from South Bend, Wa. I found your presentation very helpful. When I first clicked on your video I figured it would be just another in a long line of how to videos. Well, you added one more very important and interesting element, and that is the why you set up your set like you do. I enjoyed this immensely. Thank you.

High praise! Thank you, Greg. I was actually thinking about doing separate videos for each element of the setup, as there is a lot of information to cover, but like everyone says on KZitem... make it quick!

@@karlplaysdrums Well, here is my take on making it quick. KZitem is my only chance to converse, if only by writing, with other drummers. I’m 73 years old, and kids don’t want to hang out and talk drums with an old fart, so in that sense, I like a longer presentation. It’s my connection with drumming. I say, if you have more to offer, offer it. If it is too long for some, there is that exit button.

That is a great learning video, Karl, for individual's like myself who have never had professional lessons. You covered vital information that we just do not hear about or I haven't by others as utube contributors. Appreciate all of your content.

Happy New Year Karl. I went back to you're video on setup. My throne is stationary ( Golds gym seat with backrest modification 101.) 20" off of finished floor is the top of seat.( O.F.F.) 22" kick drum w/toms mounted on kick drum. You place your ride cymbal where a second upper tom would be which is close to snare. I imagine as we age less swinging around is important with the arms. I started lessons at Guitar Center with Angel Cambell who is on the Tube. 3rd lesson today. Playing on their set is different than one's homeset but I do appreciate every angle of learning. Is that a picture of a bicycle in a frame? I use to cycle in the 70's so that backdrop is catchy! Looking forward to your next video. 💪👊

What do you think about the ludwig centenials?

kzitem.info/news/bejne/yoqpm35jfYOflaAsi=RS2pF3SMKKjhbpVL Funny you should ask. The linked video describes my experience with my brand new Centennials. My case is not isolated. Another Centennial owner posted graphic and horrifying images of his delamination, so I checked mine, and all 5 were delaminated. Neither manufacturer nor supplier were of any help, so I don't do any business with either anymore. Thanks for asking!
