As someone who started to get sick of melodic bass this year, this album definitely fulfilled what I felt was missing from the genre this year. Although it's not the most original or even Seven Lions' best work in my opinion, this album for the most part has so much attention to detail and great melodies and atmosphere that I can forgive the lack of unique ideas. There are definitely tracks that don't do much for me but that's to be expected from an album. As for my favourites they were Call On Me, Stop Thinking and Beyond The Veil.

My top 3 of the album: 3 - Never Learn - what a treat this was! Super creative with the chord hits, melody pauses, vocal chops, etc. It just has everything you want to hear from a somewhat saturated genre. Songs like these make melodic EDM fun to listen to 2 - Miss You - what I really love about this one is the arpy space-like sounds throughout the first drop. The chord progression is awesome and so euphoric. The second drop brings a new energy that I feel that this song needed with a great lead in the background. Gotta love 7L house!! Vocals are great too 1 - Call on me - I think this is what we all wanted from seven lions, and he delivers in every aspect. The huge stack hits, classic 7L sound, superb vocals, and honestly the buildup is underrated as hell as it really hyped up the drop and makes it something truly special. I believe this is seven lions best song

What happened with ‘call on me’ for you happen with every time for me. I remember first listening to it and thinking it was such a mid song, now it’s up there with songs like island, rush over me, don’t wanna fall and first time

For me the ranking is probably: 10. Before You - Like TKC said, very basic and standard. The main melody is uninspired and the drops felt a bit lacklustre. It's not a bad song by any means, the vocals and verses are great and the keys in the second drop are beautiful. But I was really hoping Seven Lions would switch up the melody or have a trance 2nd drop, just anything to make it stand out more. 7/10 9. Beyond the Veil - A nice, chill Prog House track reminiscent of Lane 8. Not much to say here, it's good but could have used a little more energy or variation in the pluck melody. 7.5/10 8. Someday - Verses and vocals are really good and the track has certainly grown on me quite a lot. But the drops didn't have much energy, the saws felt a little weak, and again the melody is way too safe. 7.5/10 7. Between - I feel bad placing it this low because it's probably one of the best cuts in the album regarding production quality and atmosphere. However it's just a tad too soft for my music taste, I would have appreciated if he'd gone for a more chillstep style like Blackmill here. 8.5/10 6. Never Learn - This song sounds like a more chill MitiS track, and the production is just immaculate. A really nice, relaxing melodic bass song with really nice vocals and unique drops. 8.75/10 5. Stop Thinking - A perfect melodic bass tribute to Language by Porter Robinson. The melody is great, the saws are fucking amazing and Lights does a really nice vocal performance. 9/10 4. Falling Fast - Man, this song is so close to a 10. The ambience is a perfect cinematic mix of Hans Zimmer and classic melodic dubstep, the vocals are great and the second build with the arp is just *chef's kiss*. However, the drop lead just doesn't sound all that good imo; I would have loved a switch-up in the 2nd drop to a more classic 7L supersaw sound. 9.25/10 3. Call On Me - Beautiful track. This has everything you would want in a melodic bass song, the impactful drops, the beautiful vocals and acoustic vibe in the verses. Also the saws in the chorus are a complete eargasm. 9.75/10 2. Miss You - I love everything about this. The vocals are amazing and the atmosphere in the verses is pristine. And then there are the drops...I fucking love the dreamy lead in the first drop, and the melody is amazing. And then that amazing 2nd drop adds that progressive house energy that this album sorely needed. 10/10 1. Every Time - Probably my favourite track all year. The drops hit so fucking hard, the saw chords are so wide and the hard dubstep drop is a total banger. The atmosphere is just so good and really reminds me of the older Seven Lions sound of his early remixes and releases. And that outro :O. Just amazing in every way. 10/10 Also shoutout to Henosis, gave me Skyrim vibes and I'm really hoping someone makes a melodic dubstep remix of it.
