Did you cut the gusset peice from the front pattern or was it cut from another piece of fabric?

Hi, I cut two separate gusset pieces from the same fabric as the other pieces.

How long did you make the elastic?

Hi, I didn’t measure my elastic, I just stretched it as I went around, then joined at the end. It doesn’t take long to get used to how much the elastic needs to be stretched for your fit. If you did want to measure yours you can wrap the elastic around the area where you want your pants to be, join it, mark the four quarters of elastic and pants and attach. Home made pants are just so comfortable. Enjoy! 😊

Thanks for sharing. How do you know what elastic lengths to use & what fabrics would you recommend for making this style knickers?

Hi, I don't cut a length of elastic, I sew it all around the leg or waist first, then cut it off the roll and just finish off the cut edge tidily. I prefer four way cotton stretch fabric but you can use 2 way stretch. If using 2 way stretch I make sure the stretch is going side to side rather than up and down.
