Lori Holt, I absolutely love everything that you do. I am frantically trying to do some of all of it! I am making quilts Prim, Applicious, Farm Girl, working on Bee Happy and Vintage Christmas! I am also working on several of your counted cross stitch plus a bit of the crochet! Love, love it all. Your directions are so easy to follow. I am a retired elementary teacher! Lori, I could see a quilt with the stacked blocks & 4 different centered Applique pieces placed in the 4 quarters of the quilt. When folded into quarters, it would display a repeated sample of one of the same Sew Simple Shapes. Then, when you refold it to display a different quarter if the quilt, that just changes the look that you get; especially since many of us display our "wall hanging" sized quilts or a throw sized quilts over a chair or on the corner of a table or a bed. Enjoyed the 2 items you described to us, especially in the details for which you are known. I also liked to see & hear you make "designer" choices from your (very cute) project bag of tester completed shapes... by size, by color, by choice of how much lighter background you chose to be shown, around the specific shape selected. Lots of fun..to see you work ! Thanks for including that section in another fun, interesting & educational Vlog for us!

Question :) BEFORE I cut alllll of these FQs into blocks for the border of the chicken salad QAL, I wanted to ask (b/c I'm doing the pieced version) if FOR SURE the FQs marked "border blocks" will stay the same in the pieced version and the colorful FQs used for chickens in the applique version will be what I'm using for my pieced blocks?? NOTHING is changing among the colors, etc, right? I hope that makes sense! Thanks !!!!!

Hi Folks, I’m a Lori Holt Rookie and Han quilter with a question. Would you hand appliqué AFTER hand quilting the heart onto each block? Appliqué and then hand quilt around the heart? Thru the heart? having fun making a couple for valentine’s hanging “Card” and open to your ideas. Thanks and so happy to have found Lori and her work☺️.

Hi Lori. I don’t know how I didn’t know you were here. So happy I found you. I have 2 questions. I’ve never pressed open quilting seams. Can you explain the reason for that? Also, you sew onto a scrap at the end of your stitches - I was never taught to do that. Can you explain that also? Thank you.

I don't use pre cut fabric (fat quarters, charm or layer cake) my scraps are pretty un uniform. I have scraps left over from making masks that I'm trying to use up. Managed to unload half of my scrap pile by making "crazy" blocks. Am always looking for a way to get rid of scraps

Lori do you sell your interfacing double sided ? If so that would be great. Because I love your interfacing the sew in. But I'm wanting to make other projects. That are not turned applique. But still need an interfacing in it for an applique. I've tried other interfacings out there that are double-sided. But don't like the quality as well. as the one type of interfacing you sell on your website. Please let me know.

Hi Lori. Thank you for everything. I have the most fun sewing your blocks. If you will, Please tell me the size of the white plastic storage containers your fabric scraps are in sitting by your machine. Also, are these used for video purposes and you really store in larger sizes somewhere else? I’m trying to figure out a storage system for a small sewing room. Liz, Florida
