Hi, Friends! Watch how I made this DIY Halter Dress from Painters Drop Cloth fabric. I’m also sharing a Blooper at the end of the video. Be sure to check that out!
This simple dress is perfect for summer. It’s somewhat loose-fitting but snug in the right places.
I designed this halter-styled dress on a body form size 8. From there, I made a flat pattern and a wearable toile.
This video is not a tutorial, but I will share a visual of how it was sewn. Forgive me; there is not much talking in this video today, as I had a sore throat and couldn’t talk for long.
The back of the dress is my favorite part of the dress. It has an open neck slit with the darling long ties to tie a bow. I’m so happy I didn’t mess this up! Like I said, I was going with the flow.
I didn't plan much for this sewing project. I just went for it and got lucky that it worked out. I don’t recommend not planning projects, but sometimes, this works best for me.
I couldn’t decide on the length of this dress. I wanted a short version, but my husband said to make it long, so I made it in between.
I was inspired by the website Fancytia, where I saw a halter dress and felt it would be the perfect summer sewing project. I’m so happy it worked out.
Enjoy the video. See you next week.
