WOW, WOW, WOW! This is beautiful! The color and style, everything. You have inspired me to work with double faced wool. I love the feel and drape of the fabric but have never worked with it. This has got my creative juices flowing. I am so happy I have found your channel. By the way, I love that you're wearing shorts under the coat :).

Susan I have now done the alterations to the two coats that I had to alter, finished the job and really pleased when I finished but it was a lot of work and time spent on it to get a really professional finish. Thank you for your video. (Pulling the layers apart did take a really long time and it was sore on my thumbs, but as they say no pain no gain). My friend was really pleased with finished job.

I am preparing myself to make a coate with a doublesided fabric, but both sides will be right sides since they are not the same
@susaneliascouture

Both sides are right-side that is the nature of the fabric

@@susaneliascouture of course it is, but in my case one is plain and one is checkered and I want to wear it from both sides. That is what I meant by "both sides will be the right side"

I just wonder...why not do the flat middle back, without the seam
@susaneliascouture
7 ай бұрын
The fabric width might not be enough for the pattern piece. Also you can tapered or make a specific shape with a seam

What abot the part where seams meet? I have chosen to do a french seam on all the joints and try to use your technique on hams...front, bottom and sleeve bottoms..but how to open the material where it meets the vertical seam 🤔 I didn't get that part
@susaneliascouture
7 ай бұрын
A French seam is not recommended because it is too bulky. The only way to work with a double sided wall is to open it up and to sew it with in itself like I’m showing you here. I hope that helps.
@bozenamissoni2993

Yes, I know. I did french seam only on the middle back seam. Other seam I'll try your way, but I think that my fabric is not as thick as yours. And I don't know how to open the fabric, for example on the bottom ham on the joining seams, for example, on the sides
