Aw, it’s really nice to enjoy friends and get some shopping in. Love the fabrics 😊. My sewing room is now emptied and I have a drawing plan for placement of things! Go me 😂! You did an awesome job with your sewing room. Gave me a lot of ideas. Peg boards, mirror are addition. Thank you for sharing! Your friend Diane❤

I know exactly what I want to make for Sew Frugal and the fabric I want to use. But when I went to get the fabric I couldn't find it. I pretty well tore the sewing room apart. I was ready to accept that I might have donated it last year when i found it hiding behind some denim. And I actually found other fabric I want to use so all is good. How fun to get together with sewing friends. I'm hoping to get my friend, who has just rediscovered sewing after retiring, to head to Ottawa Street in Hamilton Ontario to check out all the many fabric stores there. We might even invite the hubbies and treat them to lunch with a side trip to Ikea! An oversize shirt for white fabric would be so versatile. Mmm, hard choice for the yellow, they are all pretty. Last year I donated quite a bit of fabric to a local church. They then have a big sale of all the donations, which include sewing machines, fabrics, patterns, notions, and other craft items. The money then goes to a charity in Africa that supports Grandmothers who are raising their orphaned grandchildren. Of course, after I made a huge donation, I bought some vintage patterns and a wee bit of fabric😅

Ruan, will you trace off your mom’s caftan or are you using a base pattern? I’m searching for the just-right pattern. I think caftans will be lovely for summer. Your fabrics are gorgeous! I love your fabric find for a shirt. Maybe you can make a blouse with it for the April challenge. 💕

Hi Ruan. i know you’ll get lots of input and here’s my thoughts on the Tulia. If you use one of the first two fabrics you showed, I think the lovely lines of the pattern will be lost. The third one is a little less busy so you will see the lines better. Thanks for another great video!❤🇨🇦

Endometriosis is such a painful and debilitating condition. I was diagnosed with it almost 40 years ago and still it isn't talked about enough. I had to do my own research at that time. It can also make you infertile too if not diagnosed early. In fact I actually diagnosed myself whilst in hospital. I was reading an article where someone was describing the symptoms and I thought that is me and those where the symptoms I were experiencing. Pregnancy is usually the cure, apparently. But if you can't get pregnant because it is the endometriosis that is making you infertile in the first place it's a catch 22 situation. Anyway I did go on to have a lovely healthy daughter in the end. My daughter is now in her thirties and she has also suffered with it as well. I think doctors just thought it is just painful periods back then in the 80's. Anyway sorry for rambling I get carried away with it when I hear it mentioned. Love all your fabrics, especially the gorgeous white fabric I bet you make something really beautiful with it. Love your boys being mischievous whilst you are filming, I did wonder if it was one of the cats at first. It looks a bit spooky with just the door slowly opening. They sound a lovely little pair of rascals 🤣🤣

Oh Ruan. You have no idea how jealous I am of your sewing room. I have made one of our small bedrooms into my sewing room, however, it is not as long as yours, although the width is similar-ish. Wonder if my husband would notice if I brought the door from the bedroom into the landing, thereby cutting off the front bedroom and the bathroom. hehe. I love the kaftan fabrics. Absolutely beautiful. I'm thinking of making some for myself. I'll have to get cracking on that one but would love to see one of yours made up before I do. Also, can't wait to see your final cutting table complete. Thanks for doing your video as always. x

I’ve also got the Tulia Tee to trace out when I get a second… hilarious that you actually thought you didn’t have anything yellow then just discovered three of the most fabulous yellow fabrics ever made 😆. I especially love the second two, will make a great Tulia top, just a thought, if you colour blocked say the Adam’s yellow and blue with a plain blue, then you would only use a small amount and still have enough for something else? Just thinking out loud as I’m planning to colour / pattern clash mix the Tulia… 🤔
