This is a cute little dress Joanna. Dhurata Davies has a Penny Romper similar to this which I am making for my great grandchildren. It uses poppers at top and crotch, but when I make it for my girls I will use buttons at top and poppers in the crotch. So thanks for giving me the idea to use my vintage buttons at the top!!

I really love the fact you share the whole process and working out any issues you come across. It's really helpful to see solutions others come up with.. One of the reasons I stopped sewing big 4 patterns is because I found their instructions so confusing/sparse! I'm glad that Willow ended up with a super cute dress in the end😊

I think it’s cuter as a dress anyway! Good job!

I would use tiny poppers aka press studs in the crotch area. Or tiny buttons. Stretch fabric would definitely work better. I also suggest that you ensure she wears leggings or bicycle shorts with all her dresses. Modesty is really important.

@@MichelleTheHermit so you have never heard the term paedophile? You probably haven't heard the term 'grooming' either. Children ought to be taught bodily autonomy, modesty, personal safety, personal boundaries, red flags etc etc from birth onwards. That is what parenting is all about: Communication, education and protection. If you don't then you are basically as bad as the perpetrators.

Hey, whilst I appreciate your comment and advice/tips on the sewing details, I think any comment about how I dress my daughter is highly personal. As it happens, I always put Willow in cycle shorts under her dresses or leggings but that is personal preference. I'd rather no arguments in the comment section of my videos please, this is supposed to be a safe space to talk sewing and not mention triggering subjects like grooming etc.

Just thinking about the romper. Would you then finish the bottom like a baby grow so the buttons would be on the top of the back facing and then the buttonholes on the front facing if that makes sense?

Thats what I thought :) it doesn;t say how to finish the facings though to do that so i think i'd have to fudge it next time xx@@nanahelensews
