Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I'm comparing a few smaller machines for small sewing tasks. This helped a lot.

I have this sewing machine. It was bought the first year it was made. It was gifted from a neighbor. It has been great. i don't have the attachments. But I have used itto made. 120" x 120 inch quilt, qnd several others. It mends well, you need a leader and an ender to avoid your threat issues.

I have the same sewing machine. I love mine! I'm mostly a beginner, had it for two months now but have made a lot with it. My majorette coach who is an amazing sewer gave it to me. She has made uniforms for Auburn, Troy, and I want to say UAB but I'm not 100% sure about that last one. Anyways, she sews ALOT and has been for years so she knows a good machine when she sees one. I think it's absolutely perfect for a beginner of any age. I'm 18, in case that was important to anyone.

This video is so helpful. I just bought the exact sewing machine and did not open it as yet as I decided to look at a video since I am new at this. I bought it for the same purpose as you, (repairs). Your video was very helpful. Thanks alot!

if you have trouble doing reverse sewing= stop, leave needle down, raise foot, turn material 180 and sew as far as you need. then stop, leave needle down, raise foot, turn 180 and then sew until you reach end. lift foot turn 180 put foot down and do stitch as needed. i forgot to tell you i have 2 year associates degree in auto upholstry.

Thanks for the tip on the seam allowance. I didn't notice. I would really like a locking reverse lever. Obviously you know what you are doing. Thanks again.

loose threads can get down in the bobbin area and jam it too, keep the bobbin area clean.

It may have been the material or the thread tension or the needle or even the thread itself. Perhaps you could have tried starting a little ways from the beginning and then reverse stitch. But try viewing more KZitem videos such as Professor Pincushion, Mimi G tutorials or CraftyGemini. I found those blogs were extremely helpful. Also, you are probably much much better at sewing now since this post was done in 2011. I actually have the exact machine but where I'm from, I paid WAY more than you did. I bought my machine in March 2013. By the way , I have to get a walking foot presser foot for my machine but I notice that on the BOX it has LX-3125e BUT ON THE MACHINE IT HAS LX-3125 . Can you tell me if I should reference the model number on the BOX or on the MACHINE, when purchasing the walking foot ? I really need to get a walking foot for my machine. Thanks for the post, though I saw it a few years after its original post :D

Another thing, try pulling the top thread through the front and tying it off. That can work as well :D

I like it a lot. There is a newer basic model with more stitches though.

practice makes perfect, mine works great. you just need more practice and you will get better with it. you can do monograming with it too.
