Wow ! That's my hometown 😂. Hope u both enjoyed your visit in Melaka. The roads around the Dutch Square ( Red coloured buildings) n the Jonker Street will be closed in the evening on every Friday to Sunday. It is to ensure that the tourists will enjoy walking around without having worried about the traffic. The hotel that u both were staying was previously a warehouse for the Melaka Port previously n historically. Melaka used to be the famous trading port and attracted my people from countries like Portugal, Dutch, India, China, British, etcs. If you read the history of Melaka then u will definitely will appreciate your visit more . The port used to be active till the 80's until the Melaka government decided to turned it into a tourism spots. U should pay a visit to the Baba Nyonya museum house too besides enjoying their food 😂. U can see the oldest Chinese Temple ( Cheng Hoon Teng Temple) , Mosque and Indian Kuil at the same row of the street too. The street was previously called the Harmony Road. It is actually the next lane where u enjoyed your Jonker Walk foods 😂. Lots of historical things n places to visit if you want to explore further. A Famosa, Dutch Square and Jonker is just the main tourist places. In order to get the best view of Melaka u need to climb up to the Bukit Cina Hill. U can visit the Hang Li Poh Temple n Well too which is located at the edge of Bukit Cina hill itself . U should also travel to the Portuguese Settlement and enjoy the famous Portuguese dishes. Basically there are plenty of good food all around Melaka. But u need to travel from one place to another. Famous Chinese food in Melaka are like the Fried Oyster, Chicken rice , Wan tan mee, Duck Noodles, Hee Khiaw ( Fish cake) Popiah, Pork Satay, Taiwan Noodles, Satay Celup and many more 😂😂 with reasonable prices too . There are a few famous Baba Nyonya food restaurants too besides the one that u tried . Please make another trip in the future and try to stay at least 2 nights and enjoy the good food. Actually, KK is also a beautiful place too especially with the Manukan, Mamutik, Sapi n Gaya islands. Not forgetting the Jalan Gaya, Tanjung Aru , Todak Waterfront and plenty of good seafood restaurants n good coffee shops around Jln Gaya too. Also a 2 hours drive to Kundasang with the wonderful views of Mount Kinabalu. The local government should make full use of every opportunities in order to make Sabah a great State . Another beautiful Island nearby KK but not many people knew about it too called the Mantanani Island. The island resort is basically run by the same group of Sutera Harbour resorts . 😂 . Tis round I will be bringing my family to KK next month n let them see n enjoy the beautiful places of KK n Kundasang too 😂.
