Soon as hardcover drops, I will be picking this up for my Shadowdark crew.

I'm a big fan of Raging Swan products. I had a mini campaign using The Lonely Coast setting. What I found was that in order to get the most out of the setting I had to read the whole thing thoroughly and then decide what parts I wanted to use most. the setting was so packed full of locations, NPCs and story ideas that I could take different groups and run them through the settings and it would play differently each time. And you could also combine these different mini settings to make a lager world. With Lonely Coast your plyers could go off on a sea farung adventure and end up on the Picaroon Peninsula and add on sea adventures such as X1, ot they could travel to the larger Dulwich area. A great set of adventures and locales in each setting to mine for adventure and rp.

What did you purchase? The 5e or osr version? I'm thinking of running it with Shadowdark and want to know which version to buy.

@@rgmadd7I got the OSR version. That way the HP and to hit bonuses work as is. The AC needs to be converted but that’s easy to do on the fly or in advance.

@@rgmadd7 Where did you purchase the OSR version ? I have the 5E version and intend to run this with Shadowdark RPG.

Thanks for this one Sly. Really fits my DM style to have the structure of a published adventure without necessarily sticking to any particular part of it. Definitely looks like an area you could run multiple campaigns out of and just keep up with the changes as it evolves.

That was a great walkthough of the Shadowed Keep. I need to dive into it deeper and give it a run.

Shunned Valley is already a book Raging Swan have up already, interesting that it is being rolled into this book. The recent addition of player friendly maps was great, reached out to Creighton wondering about a player version of the surrounds map. Oh and i think one of the recent additions would have been great a year ago, there is more player friendly versions of the town locations

Great breakdown of an excellent adventure setting. As I mentioned in another comment, I’m running a modified version for my Shadowdark campaign and it is exactly what I was looking for.

Finally I get a chance to watch a video over 30 minutes (this is why I also don't watch all of Troll Lord's videos lol)! Thank you for the deep delve! I love how they have those one page summeries of the locations. That reminds me of how OSE does some of their adventures.

Great to see you covering this fun book. I am 20 sessions in to running it. My group went out to the keep, captured Bandit Queen and came back to town and did mutiple questlines from the locations, mainly a big underground around the rogue cleric. But we are back out slashing through the keep itself.

I really love Orcus as a campaign finale, my group is about to finish out the campaign fighting orcus in about 5 sessions. I like this multiple cults and demon lords at work. The adventure itself sounds intresting. I'll need to keep an eye on it.

I'm currently running a sandbox campaign in this setting. Such a great book that is very well organized and super accessible. I would recommend this to both new and experienced DMs. Do you know if new material is being added, or are they just combining the Shadowed Keep and the Shunned Valley books?

There is a lot of new content for the town locations that isn't in my print copy, thankfully I have the pdf as well. There is also map files (both legend and unlegended of the Keep).

The OSR version is $16 on DriveThruRPG. I wonder if I should get the 5e version and convert it myself, or if I should use the OSR version, and does that one have the updates coming? Maybe I’ll check out the Patreon and all over there.

I am currently running a Shadowdark campaign using it. I love it. I started the party in Longbridge, which was probably a misstep on my part. We are six sessions in and just now on the road to Dulwich. I was able to work in the Bandit Queen angle early enough to make it work though.
