When torqued to spec, they'll still probably require a tool. So multi tool pliers or multi tool hex in either case. But I'm not a fan of the whole BIS craze. Modern rifle scopes are very durable. If kinetically hit, you or the rifle are also probably out of action anyway. And if not, I prefer canted "point shooting" as a quick fall back...or for CQB...and if I were a door kicker, I'd just run irons with no optic creating blind spots.

@@AmbGun sorry I was a little grumpy and didn’t have my coffee yet this morning lol I did not mean to offend at all and also I think there’s probably some purchases I have made in my years. that others would not agree with. Like who the heck needs a grenade launcher lol but I wanted one. I still don’t deny that the trigicon is a great optic it’s just not marketed for Normies in my opinion

Larue QD mount?

QD's stick out as much as the stock thumb screws. I generally do not like QD optic mounts.

How much does an acog cost for you to have to go along and repair it's obvious design flaws. At that price it should be perfect out of the box

It's not terribly expensive when compared with a good LPVO and mount. And these upgrades are pretty minor. Electrical tape has worked fine for decades. Cutting back the studs makes the mount usable for bullpups and ambidextral gunfighters.

Just flip the mount so the knobs are facing outboard?

You could just move the optic back as well. Surely you aren’t going to argue you can’t reach the charging handle with it on the last slot. I bet your head placement with the optic how you have it is glued to the rifle because of the eye relief. Am I the only one who runs the optics as far back without blocking depending on optic and mounting system?

That’s all fine and dandy on a precision rifle. Which is not what you are holding. 75 yards is average AR distance 🫶 just don’t want you to catch rounds cause you can’t find the reticle in a high stress situation. But shit who am I and what the hell do Ik.

@@GlockmanChoo My intent is to push contact out beyond 300+ yards. Inside that and I'm leveling the playing field for the minimally skilled. However as the Ambi advocate, I have to recognize that ability is most beneficial inside 100. Inside 50, I'm comfortable with canted "point shooting" to get around the optic in a more heads up position. Lately I'm leaning toward irons since it seems I can get pretty close to a 4x optic at distance and at short range pretty quick heads up framing with the sight's protective wings. With fast Ambi handling and less inertial mass for snap shooting.

@@AmbGun I agree irons would be solid for canted sights. 👍🏻

Why are you running the acog so far forward and your stock fully extended? Differnt strokes for different folks, sure, but this way seems to be the worst combo for that optic to be run optimally. I know and talked to many vets, experienced civs, and leos that all that agree to run it as far back as possible. I myself have owned multiple acogs always run it as far to the rear as possible due to the TINY eye box and eye relief. The fact that you're shooting your AR cross bodied is evident that you are trying to neck up to the optic whereas you could shoot it "normally" if it's moved to the rear of the receiver. Prism optics shine on bullpups so you did great. It would be like putting the Acog on the very front of the bullpup. No advantages just drawbacks.

Prone, stock one cluck from fully extended. Offhand, two clicks. Turkey neck cheek weld a repeatability technique for marksmanship. Higher powered cartridges, it reduces scope bite.
