I don't understand Elliot's problem with Juno. The term is "pro-choice," not "pro-abortion". The character in the movie goes to an abortion clinic, changes her mind, and proceeds with the pregnancy. That was a choice, befitting the name of the cause.

In reality, you can’t really make a tv series off an abortion. Any tv show based off a pregnancy is going to be “pro life” by default cause it’s easier to make episodes off a 9 month pregnancy vs an abortion. You can even make episodes after the baby is born.
@kyleemeg2171
2 ай бұрын
Doesn’t seem like you really understand what being pro-choice actually is. They wouldn’t have had to make the character have an abortion for it to be pro-choice. They could’ve made someone else pressure the character into getting an abortion, but she ultimately decides to keep the baby (because that’s what she wants)… this narrative is 100% pro-choice. Because being pro-choice isn’t about pushing abortion, it’s about allowing every woman to make their own choices. Whether that be motherhood, termination, or adoption.
@TommyWiseauu
2 ай бұрын
@@kyleemeg2171 I understand that but wouldn’t someone choosing life over pressured abortion give the pro choice side a bad look? If pro choice isn’t about pushing abortion, why suggest a character pressure the pregnant girl to have one? That doesn’t make sense from your stand point.
@kyleemeg2171
2 ай бұрын
@@TommyWiseauu it’s not that it doesn’t make sense…. You’re just not understanding. Being pressured into getting an abortion is something that happens to real people… but just because they’re receiving a termination doesn’t mean it’s pro choice… in fact if it’s forced onto them, then it’s the exact opposite. The point of that plot line would be to show that all choices should be available, and at the end of the day it’s the woman’s choice as to what she does.

I am neither pro-life or pro-choice, I am more of in the the middle, I am not against abortion, but should be treated as a final resort and not as just whenever you get pregnant all the time, also don't abuse the option of abortion either, we also need to know and understand the dangers of abortion too, how it affect the person before, during and after abortion, also how dangerous abortion can be too if it's done badly or get it done too many times, this is something that pro-choice need to understand too, also I don't know why pro-choice people attack and defame pro-life people, they should understand and see what pro-life are saying or getting at then blatantly attack them, the same on the other side, the same with all groups of such too, so yeah
@Randomgirl3468

Sounds to me like you're pro-choice? Being pro life means not wanting people to have access to abortions because it's murder. They don't want abortions to be legal. That's why pro-choice people don't like pro-life people. Pro-life people try to make abortions illegal and therefore forcing women to give birth. Pro choice is basically just saying "everyone should choose for themselves." It doesn't mean being pro-abortion or using abortions as contraception instead of a last resort. Now, I'm not saying there aren't women using it as a form of contraception but this is an extreme case not the norm. Most pro choice people understand that abortions are a last resort.

I think it was a very cheesy show that didn’t age well but i do think Shailene did an excellent job of playing a teenage Mother even if some parts of Amy were not likeable of her character. Shailene also did well in getting past that role being her identity and moving on to bigger and better things. But i don’t see hoe that show was shaming people for not being abstinent the only person who even stayed a virgin the whole show was Lauren. I also think they the statements of teenage pregnancy being preventable where more about using contraceptives and less about pro life or pro choice. It is just had Amy not had the baby they probably wouldn’t have had enough stories to get more than 1 season.

Shailene Woodley regrets "The Secret Life Of An American Teenager" Jacob Elordi regrets "The Kissing Booth" Elliott Paige (*previously Ellen Paige*) regrets doing "Juno" Just because actors had their careers launched from making films they later regretted, doesn't mean they're not allowed to feel the regret they feel. There's a possibility that maybe the reason some of these actors regret certain movies they made is because they didn't want to pigeonholed to a certain character or "typecasted." Maybe they didn't know they'd regret certain projects later on. 🤷

Just cause it made her doesn’t mean she can’t regret it. She can hate it, it doesn’t mean she isn’t grateful for the opportunity it presented her. Especially Divergent and A Fault In Our Stars. Just because you hate it, doesn’t mean she isn’t grateful for the opportunities and that’s a fact, because many people hate the role that they’re known for, but it _doesn’t_ mean anything.
