Thanks for the video, I am trying something similar to your set up. I have a 7 gpm pump at my spring tank which is 550 gallons. This pump has to push water straight up a 20 foot cliff, and then up a slight incline 380 feet to the 110 gallon holding tank at my off-grid cabin. I tried this with a 4.5 gpm pump and it worked, but I only got a gallon every 2 1/2 minutes. So hopefully the bigger pump will do great.

Takes a bit of experimenting so what I learnt is duty cycle of pumps , most overheat if used a lot so I always check to make sure their rated for constant duty and not interment duty. Cheers 👍

GREAT set-up. I use a far more simple system. I pump it from a hand pump to a 50 gallon barrel. I filter, boil, filter and finally evaporative-chemical boil for the final step. No viruses, bacteria, mold, NOTHING. It takes 30 minutes to prep, however well worth it...

Love how that is working SR. I know me and you have chatted about this before. I am still thinking about mine system as mine will be irrigation and many more feet than what you have. I think I need more gpm too to run the drip system. I think the emitters use a gph figure. Like 1 to 4 gph. I need to figure how many I am going to have per zone. Anyways, this has turned out really nice and I think it will work great for you.
@SteveRobReviews
3 жыл бұрын
Ronnie I'm sure I can pump 300 feet easy on level ground . The drip irrigation nipples must have a spec. at a certain psi but I'm thinking once the lines are full this pump would be fine at 2 gpm flow . 120 gallons an hour seems like enough water . Yep its all about the math for your design.
@EarlybirdFarmSC
3 жыл бұрын
@@SteveRobReviews I did the conversion on it online and 1 gpm is 60 gph. I think you are right, it should be enough. I need to go watch your video on the shallow well. I am curious as to why you dug that versus just sticking the food valve in that creek/holding area? That might be what I need to do too.

Steve, LOVE your stuff, think I mentioned before I have a off grid camp near Hornepayne so this is a perfect Chanel for me! 2 questions; I have a water tank up a hill, couldn’t I just use my generator and electric pump to fill it then let gravity feed my camp? Also if I have a rv-12 volt pump for my shower would I still need that “blue pressure tank?”, can you recommend a good solar panel, see those Coleman’s always on sale at C Tire but not sure if it’s what I should get? bonus question is……are you really up in Muskrat Dam? Sounds like a heck of a story for an ex Car guy?! Cheers Paul
@SteveRobReviews
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul The gravity feed idea works well but you would need to get it about 8 feet off the ground to get decent flow. Muskrat Dam is the same as Possum Lodge from the Red Green Show :) The blue pressure tanks are only needed if you plan on using the water off and on like a regular tap because the 12v pressure pump will constantly turn on and off erratically plus it hard on the pump . This summer I expand the water pumping project with a design incorporating a hot water tank for the camp and a water service to the camp. This is the solar panels I use with a charge controller I buy separately for about $30 . Hi Danny . I have a stihl ms260 & 360 . I also have the stihl 170 it's a homeowner saw and its a peice of junk compared to the stihl Pro rated saws . The 250 is definitely not a pro series saw and of course it's not priced like a pro series saw . I'd pass on the ms250 and get the stihl ms261 if I'm spending your money 😅 ya it's miles ahead of a ms250 and the last saw you will ever buy. 👍
