These tips are kind of myths, like the emulsifying one. But what i think she meant is, if your hair gets oily on day 3/4, use dry shampoo on day 2/3. Not right after you wash your hair. I once used dry shampoo on clean hair and every time i ran my fingers through it there would be white clumps falling on my shoulders like dandruff, because the powder has nothing oily to soak into.

@potatopirate5557

I think the point is that it doesn't spread as easily if its not properly lathered, so the shampoo will miss a lot of hair and scalp area that u cant tell when you arent looking from the outside. I literally just sat down and saw this after washing my kids hair. I was showing them why their hair still looks oily after they wash. I observed and they go thru a lot of product... way too much and really work it around but its not doing it. I showed them that if the hair isnt wet enough and u dont emulsify the shampoo well, it barely does anything. I put a pump right on some damp hair and no matter how much i rubbed it around, it only covered a tiny area and didnt do much. When u separate the hair look thru the part that looked like it was covered well by the shampoo, there was so much scalp and hair that it wasnt getting to at all. I kept doing it their way, pump after pump after pump, used a ton of product but when ur looking right at it, u can see the coverage isnt sufficient and it ends up still oily. But add more water and lather it up good and it really gets all over a large area, thoroughly thru all of the hair and scalp in a way that was not possible with ten times the product, less water and technique.

Bestie washing your hair everyday makes it worse and that comes from me who went through the same thing. At least wash your hair every other day like I'm doing right now cause it gives your hairs natural oils a break from being stripped away everyday, and that would lead to excessive shedding of your hair and the oils that keep your hair healthy. I also recommend using hair oils if your hair gets oily super fast you most likely need a good hair oil to help protect your scalp and give it good vitamins.(depends on the brand)

As someone with fine hair, the only thing that works for me is washing twice. I love my hair and my full routine works for me. Skincare is another thing altogether.
@zoeybrinkerhoff8621

It really shouldn't be that complicated. Shampoo top half and condition bottom half. If you use a lot of hot tools use a heat protection spray and get a deep conditioning done every 2 or 3 months. Every other month if you experience more dry hair or get hair bleached more often. Use shampoos and conditioners without parabeans or sulfates or any of that other crap. Wash hair twice a week, wash hair more frequently if you're hair gets greasy more often but don't do it everyday. It's fine if you're hair gets greasy it's normal we all produce the oil from our scalps just as we do with the oil produce from the pores on our face some people just produce more oil faster and some slower. The oil from our scalp is healthy and better then any other oil for your hair because it's natural. More oil production means more hair washing because the oil can clogg the hair follicles. Anything other than your regular shampoo & conditioner is pointless, less is better. Just like a simple 2-4 stel Skincare routine is better then 7 or more.
@1ove1y.spr1te_4
Жыл бұрын
Actually the reason hair gets greasy is if you are washing too often, or you have naturally oily hair which can seem greasy, it tries to quicken the process of the natural oils because you’ve ‘stripped’ them when washing. So shampooing twice not only won’t work, it also will kind of do the opposite of what you want, same with dry shampoo. Use not too often because its not the healthiest and you dont want your hair to rely on it, another point is maybe try a more hydrating shampoo and less stripping strong ones

Shampoo is for your scalp, not really your hair. Shampooing twice is not as damaging as you think. You end up washing your hair less in the week doing this because your scalp is getting a proper cleanse... you can see she isn't focusing the shampoo on her ends but her scalp. The first wash gets rid of build up of product, dirt, oil etc... the second wash actually cleanses your scalp. I am curly haired (we are more proned to breakage from manipulation in general etc)... shampooing twice is one of the best things I have done for my scalp. My hair has not suffered, it's thriving actually ☠️ Just because "you know a lot about hair" it doesn't mean shampooing twice is the devil for everyone. I know a lot about curly hair for example and a lot of things people commonly say you can't do to curly hair cause "it causes damage"... you very much can do if you understand ingredients and their function ☠️

Sometimes if you have thick hair you might have to use a shower for it instead of a bath I used to use a bath for it and the product built up in my hair, looked awful until I learnt how to not be an idiot

Used to have this problem and switched to silicone free products. I also shampoo once with splitting my hair up in parts snd shampooing them separately. I don’t have these problems anymore and my hair lasts 7 days after washing before it starts to look oily again

Theres legit a ton of reasons why hair can be greasy. Lets not claim that these few answers cover everyones issues because it doesnt. You didnt even bring up the fact that some people have actual scalp issues that have nothing to do with their shampoo routine. You also failed to mention clarifying shampoo should only be used like once a week because it strips your hair of all oils, causing your hair to be very dry if used every day or every other day. Definitely dont recommend as a normal shampoo. And who the hell washes their hair twice? Just do it right the first time. Thats such a waste of product, especially if you use clarifying shampoo. Its more expensive than regular shampoo.

Dry shampoo only works in combination with oil and grease, so why stress my hair with alcohol and other extremely drying ingredients if its useless? Every hairstylist will tell you to wash dry shampoo out on the next day, latest. Not to wear it for multiple days cause it builds up on your scalp, makes it dry, flaky and itchy

4 for me. You straightened your hair and are so happy playing with it that it's getting oily, wash your hands and tie them behind your back 💀

Be careful with using clarifying shampoos more than once a week.. especially if you wash twice.. it shouldn’t be using a clarifying shampoo both times

Or it's the shampoo you're using, it's your daily routine, you touch and mess with your hair a lot, you are washing it too much which made your hair overproduce oil to try and balance it out, or you're not rinsing your hair products well, or you wear hats and hoodies that mess with your hair, or your pillowcase, or your hair products in general aren't vibing with your hair. and probably a million other things I forgot to mention here. I don't believe in double cleaning (why would you dry your hair so much) unless I really feel I need it. Sometimes I can feel my hair isn't quite clean after one batch so I'll do another, but that's far from it being a rule.

I mean if I was to take all of these steps with the speed my hair and skin produces oil, my hair would be oily but the next day 😂 I only condition due to my skin overproducing oils if I remove all of them With just conditioner my hair stays soft and doesn't look oily for up to 7 days if I choose not to wash it

They’re still not telling you the real reason. Instead they’re plugging two new products on you. Real reason is you’re using too much conditioner and on the roots too. Thank me later.
