I honestly appreciated how open Chia was about her pregnancy. I’m a woman and have debated having kids but seeing all that Chia went through, and she’s STILL okay and happy, it makes me want to have kids now! I appreciate her and she handled it like a champ.

"I always told Shannon to drink more water." 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I love Rick. Agree 1000000000% Modern mothers are sharing things my mother would've never told me. I feel now that when I carry a child, I need to be trullyyyyyyy cherished by my husband for the sacrifice of childbirth. Idc if you have an easy, pain free pregnancy and delivery, every baby shifts your organs that is wild enough. Chia, Shannon and this entrepreneur Dana Chanel shared just about everything about their pregnancies and I appreciate it all. Women need to know the true cost of giving life, it's a very big deal; bigger than I ever thought.
@senojoy12473

Yes!! Even though there's a baby born like every second or minute or whatever, it's still a miracle and should be treated as such. Women used to literally die in childbirth and so many women have complications in pregnancy so that experience should be given all the respect that it deserves.

And on that discussion about growing up, I'm exactly the same. We had a dishwasher and a laundry machine growing up but we weren't allowed to use em. We'd still have to do the chores by hand. And even now I found myself never using the dishwashers in the places I've lived like my current apartment I probably use the dishwasher on weekends when the dishes pile up but like on Mon-Fri workdays I just hand wash whatever small amount of dishes builds up. Always good to have the technology and everything at our fingertips but it's hella important to know how to do things WITHOUT, so we don't become too reliant on stuff. How I was raised kept me grounded and I hope I can impart that onto my kids in the future whenever I eventually have kids.

Great episode guys! Shan is always a great guest. The reason why TheShadeRoom posts stuff like “only Black people did this as a kid” is because TheShadeRoom is a Black Instagram page. Although it’s a popular gossip page for everyone now it started off specifically covering Black culture topics/gossip. So even though people of all different races started following them, they still cater to their desired demographic which is Black people. So that explains why people might get “upset” and respond with things like “let black people have our shit” if you were to comment that. I think there’s plenty of things people do that they think are specific to their culture but really everyone does... I love to have those kind of conversations because I love to see people create cultural moments amongst one another!

They told us we couldn’t record my sis-in-law push the baby out. I did it anyways since I was in the back, away from the commotion. Instead of the team having their full attention on her, every now and then they would side eye me across the room. The umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck and they literally yanked him out of her by the neck. Watching it happen in person was easy to understand why they don’t want ppl to record. It looked inappropriately violent but it’s procedure. I’m sure they didn’t want video proof if something went wrong.

For some children who deal with sensory integration issues, they require extra input for certain sensations (tactile/pressure). Sucking is a calming action that acts upon the nervous system and some children continue breastfeeding at an older age because they need it so that their body is not in fight or flight response 24/7.

I know Tim or Shannon are probably not going to see this but I hope they do. I believe the dishwashing things goes deeper than practicality or building work ethic. What it really helps with is teaching your kids the importance of gratitude and how to express that. Tim touched on it a little when he said if him and Chia are cooking for Veyda every night then she should at least wash the dishes. That idea of "I should help mom and dad out since they do so much for me" isn't a natural feeling; it's taught. Making your kid do chores around the house teaches them that if people go out of their way to do something nice for them they should be appreciative of that and not take it for granted. Some kids that don't grow up with household responsibilities end up forming the expectation that people are supposed to do nice things for them and as a result they become unappreciative and selfish people. Also, kids who grow up with chores like washing the dishes learn how to be a team player and that the world isn't just about their selfish desires; it's also about helping your loved ones out and contributing to your community even if it's something as small as washing the dishes after your mom or dad put in the effort too feed you. Teaching your kids self-development skills like how to do their taxes is important, but teaching them how to be a team player is equally as important so that they don't grow up thinking that the world revolves around them. Those little things go a long way.
