The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture’s Imagine Your Story series highlights activities and experiences by Indigenous peoples and communities. This series is geared toward K-12 students, schools and libraries to provide additional insights into Indigenous ways of learning.
In this video ShanDien Sonwai LaRance (Hopi, Tewa, Navajo and Assiniboine) shares her Hoop Dancing passion. How can dance be a way of storytelling? Do students see similarities of Hoop Dance formations and other images created in traditional artwork such as pottery and weavings? We hope students and communities can learn something new about what it means to Imagine Your Story. This series is funded by the Sternberger Foundation. #ImagineYouStory
