Sterling Sharpe was the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice and even Jerry himself acknowledges that. It's even sadder cause that injury happened 2 years before the Pack won it in 96. I can see how it still impacts Shannon.

Wow to hear shannon say he would beg god " give me the neck Injury let me brother keep playing " & I believe he means that too. That is just beyond love. Any documentary or his hof speech it's all about sterling & his granny. That really tells you what an unselfish grateful person shannon is. His hof speech about his brother is the most moving one I've seen.

I always had him as a top 3 reciever, Moss, Rice, Sharpe. He gave my Lions nightmares in the early 90's

Sterling Sharpe is unarguably the most underrated most under appreciated WR to play the game. He’s never mentioned on the greatest WR list and it’s unbelievable to me.

Hearing Shannon speak loving words of his big brother has me crying and feels good to hear because my brother passed away 3 weeks after my birthday in October of 1982. I had turned 9 years old that years and when he passed away it hurt me emotionally very much to this day I wonder if would have been married with a family of his own what kind of job he would have or would he have gotten into sports on some kind of level but I'll never have the chance to ever know. I miss my brother and every day is still painful without him. I love hearing Shannon speak about him because they are closer than the boundaries of bonds of any kind. Just like what I had with my brother. May God continue to bless and protect you brotha Shannon Sharpe and the whole family and every relative and in-law. My man Shannon Sharpe a living football legend icon and hall of famer. A man of plenty accolades. Love and respect always brotha Shannon Sharpe.

@J the most overrated? Eli has been up and down, yes - you can definitely describe him as inconsistent. But to describe him is overrated is just ignorant. In an era where the Patriots have literally DOMINATED the ENTIRE league, for Eli to have TWO rings.... there's just no way you can describe that as "overrated".

Sterling was T.O. before T.O. physically different than any WR at the time that can run any route, great hands. He was truly one of the best to ever do it. Hall of Famer for sure just I don't know if he'll get in, but if he does that's one speech I would love to hear. To hear Shannon's admiration for his brother is inspiring and humbling to know that a great player in his own regard would trade it all for his brother is an honorable and incredible gesture

Shannon is the ideal brother. Don't really watch any sports except for a lil bit of bodybuilding and strongman but I used to watch his interviews from time to time and when I got to know a lil bit more about him I became a fan instantly.

If Tony Bocelli can make it to the Hall of Fame, so should Sterling. Sterling was a better player at his position than Tony was and they played about the same amount of years in the NFL.
