Shaq. Thanks for having Dr. J on your podcast. Ten thumbs up. Most people don't know that before Michael Jordan there was Dr. J. He is my goat. I'm old enough and fortunate to see him play. Go to your basketball archives and watch some Dr. J games or highlights. You'll see why I call him my goat. The disadvantage he had was he started his career in the ABA instead of the NBA before the two leagues merged. I can go on and on. That's for the show Shaq. Dr. J. much respect. You are the greatest.

Dr J is my all-time favorite small forward and he is absolutely a G.O.A.T. While he was in the ABA Dr J from the small forward position would average 27.3 pts , 15.7 reb, 4 assist per game , in a league that had centers like Artis Gilmore, Moses Malone , power forwards like Maurice Lucas , Dan Issel, Mel Daniels etc. Dr J is most likely the most underrated player of all times, just because they don't have him in the G.O.A.T conversation. If the 1976-77 Philadelphia 76ers team that he had would have won the championship that year he would have been the only franchise player in the history of the NBA to have won a championship in the ABA and NBA back to back. But he is the only franchise player to have played in an ABA championship series and an NBA championship series in two consecutive years back to back. And those two teams the Nets of the ABA, and the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA, made it to the championship while he was the franchise player of both those organizations. Let's give Julius Erving the five basketball salute 🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
