Based on the dorsal fin that is either a Hammerhead or Great White Shark. Both are extremely dangerous to human beings. It’s incredibly irresponsible for a “journalist” to say the shark is not a danger and in the same breath admit she doesn’t know what it is. Basking sharks are huge and their dorsal fins are rounded. This was definitely not a basking shark.
@JohnWahlers

Not true. Great Whites yes but not Hammerheads- even the largest of the Hammerheads (Great Hammerheads) very rarely attack humans and have never been involved in a fatal attack. Not saying I'd like to swim.with one but saying they are extremely dangerous is wrong. The only true dangerous sharks are Bulls, Tiger Great Whites and to a lesser degree White tips and Makos

Why do they say Unprovoked attacks? Are there ppl out there provoking these attacks?
@kowalski3769
Ай бұрын
Yes. Say you're fishing and you hook one and are trying to get the hook out to release the shark and it bites you. Provoked attack. Say you're spear fishing and have a fish on you're line and the shark comes after the fish you hooked and came in an bit you because it saw you as competition for food? Provoked. Say your swimming and a shark comes up out of nowhere and bites you? Unprovoked. There are other examples but you can probably see where I'm going with this. Not everyone is petrified of sharks. Every time you go in the ocean you are in their territory. 99 % of the time they don't bother you and you don't even know they are there. Most of the time there is an attack it's a mistake by the shark. We are generally not on their menu.
