It's time for one of the most badass sounding (in both game name and OST) NES games to get the 8BS Revamp treatment, welcome to the brilliant sounding world of Shatterhand! Natsume's pinnacle of amazing game design, stunning graphics, and an absolutely killer soundtrack! Brought to us by one of the all time greats of VGM composers, Iku Mizutani (formally from Konami)! Mizutani has a special knack of really getting the most out of using only 4 of the sound channels, the Squares always play off each other so great along with a tight Triangle and Noise channel combo that makes every track feel so energetic and alive! Every track from this game is just fantastic, nearly every Area theme (especially Area's A, C & D) brings a level of energy and excitement as you punch your way through baddies, the "Area Select" is a lovely short loop, "Boss Battle" is intense and the "Ending / Staff Roll" having that lovely Natsume ending vibe! Everything about the music and sound is top tier NES quality, thanks to Mizutani using the final version of his Sound Driver (Version 3) which featured some of his most popular and praised compositions, all with the exciting extra "punch" of Hiroyuki Iwatsuki's Sound Effect design, it's all so phenomenal! Also a fun fact,, many have pointed out a portion of the Ending theme sounding exactly like a part from the "Amazon" theme from the DuckTales NES game, apprently Mizutani is a big fan of that game, so its likely he loved that theme so much he incoporated that one part as a nod to a game and soundtrack he loves! :) The game itself is regarded as one of the finest quality games on the console, from the tight controls, unique gameplay and stellar animations, and a challenge that while is difficult, is not discouraging and anyone can beat this title with enough patience. Often cited as an underrated gem for many years until its quality reach many more masses of people. The original Famicom version was actually based off a Japanese TV show, Super Rescue Solbrain, and a game adaptation was made released under Tokkyuu Shirei Solbrain, which actually features two unique tracks on that version (the "Opening" and "Area C" are different, with Area C also being an entirely different themed level), which of course are featured on this upload! Both versions of the game are essentially the same and very fun, but Shatterhand definitely has the coolest international change I've seen. While this certainly could have been a Natsume published title in America (as they have done before), Jaleco's backing definitely helped, and the Angel publisher in Japan is actually a subsidiary of Bandai, which they used to publish more games. So glad to get another OST up, sorry for another gap in time from the last upload, but focused on something else temporarily IRL, and you can read about these updates on the preview posts for these uploads on my Patreon, which thank you all that have supported and those still at Tiers 2 & 3, much appreciated, until next OST, listen on! www.patreon.com/nikotengoku ❤

The American cover art speaks 90s Edit: Evidently in the Japanese version, Area F: Ravaged City shares the same track as Area C: Amusement Park.

Niko, I am relieved to see that you have a mega link to download all of the remasters at once! You do not have a similar link for all of the old mixes, do you? I used to download them all one by one many years ago, but somewhere along the way I forgot to keep doing it. Would love to be able to just grab everything at once instead of going to every youtube video for a link. Either way, thanks for making these!

Thank you, I'm happy making the Revamps here! And lucky for you, I do ! As I just collected all the old mixes into one folder where all the old mixes were previously being hosted on Mediafire. I'm still not proud of my older mixed versions, and my Mediafire account and all the files will be deleted eventually (and those that have been Revamped already have been deleted I'm afraid), so have all the older versions as you like, but hope you will replace them eventually with the newer/better mixed versions! :) www.mediafire.com/folder/k06lk7ns396ao/8BitStereo+(OLD+MIXES)
