SHAWN TUBBS!!! One of my absolute Favorite Artists, and Guitarist’s. His tone, style, chops are undeniably outstanding! Truthfully, I could have his board, guitar, amp the whole kit and caboodle, I’d sound like “mud” 😉 Shawn, just unique, and so humble! Thanks for this one, SWEETWATER. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Shawn typically uses bright amps with V30 speakers and plays a lot on single coil neck pickups. My guess is the Tilt is voiced for that.

@Sperzel That's what I was guessing, too. It is dynamic as advertised, but I probably need to pair it with a Fender blackface style amp.

When you have access to a lot of pedals it is hard to decide the flavor of the week, it is kinda nice being broke and only having to use what you got… or else I would be changing pedals every time I played 😂

I'm now 60 years old, spent my life as a guitar nerd, and managed to make a modest living from music all this time. Sean is such an advanced player he makes everything sound great. TBH most of it comes from the fingers and a creative mind. He could play my own much more modest rig and make it sound fabulous. Gear makers have to sell gear, but there's no easy route. If you manage to improve as a player, you'll sound great, dont need to spend thousands chasing a holy grail. just my opinion.

Hi Tony . I'm 58 and I've been playing Guitar since I was 12 years old . Started earning cash as a Teenager . Became a Professional Musician/Guitarist for Princess Cruise Lines in my early 30 's . I believe every word you said was exactly true . I've never had a desire to own the most Guitars or Guitar " Toys " . I've learned over the years how to create sounds from my Guitars that most people wouldn't expect . But other Guitar players would . That's why I never had much use for Effect Pedals . But I do have a nice Home Recording Studio that is well outfitted with all the necessities , but really no extra pieces of Gear . I also made an acceptable Living . I definitely didn't get rich but I did get the Bills paid . It's really nice to read about someone who has pretty much lived the same life as you . I hope you and your Family are doing well and staying safe . 🎸😎🎸

@@RikJSmith thanks Rik. Its like fishing isnt it? Always new gadgets to catch the angler rather than the fish. If you manage to play well, and get a decent sound, you work and you make a living. The best players make even limited equipment sound good, but i do recognise that companies need to sell gear.

@@tonyloco42 Yes there's an endless supply of non stop new gadgets to be had . And I only have a few to go with my Guitar and Amp . I play 80 ' s and 90 ' s Rock . So I have a Compressor , a Boost , a BBE Sonic Maximizer , and a Delay Pedal . That's been my set up for a bit over 10 years . And with this setup and a couple of different Guitars , and my Amp , I can switch from Country Music and BlueGrass to 70 ' s Pop and 80 ' Rock . So I never have to be tempted by all the new stuff . And I still practice a few hours a day . I was never a Natural so I need to be careful that I don't slack off because I fought too hard to become the Guitarist I am now .

It’s kind of like having different brushes and colors while painting. I agree with all of your comments. I run through a decent pedal board. Still mostly I just use a transparent overdrive and compression occasionally. I like playing with glassy cleans so that’s why the overdrives and gain stages. I used to do the set an amp to dirty and dial back to clean but as my playing grew certain directions I eventually wanted ultra clean type tone much where the guitar is the biggest tonal difference. This guy is a good player and it’s a cool board. It makes sense for a studio player. That’s the truth is that a board like this is a big deal for a studio player

tactility, immediate visual feedback, and less option paralysis. though i’d wager in the long run you’d end up sounding better, at quieter volumes, with the modelers.
@shlebmo
9 ай бұрын
I think it depends on the type of player. The modelers are great for virtually all types of players with the exception being blues players. For certain blues players their performance depends on having a tone and response that a modeler will struggle to satisfy with. The convenience of the modeler is probably unmatchable though
