I built this garden shed about 5 years ago and it has settled and sunk some since then. This resulted in the floor boards, joists, and perimeter support frame rotting.
Our garden association prefers us not to use treated lumber because of the risk of chemicals leaching into the soil. So, I used regular lumber and had this mess to deal with.
I ripped up the flooring, excavated all the dirt about a foot from ground level to gain access to the existing supports so they could be replaced.
I used cement slab pavers and treated 4x4 posts under the walls for support and the floor joists are also supported by a paver and post fastened with L brackets.
New floor boards are 2x4 treated lumber, as is all new wood I used. Nothing is getting planted in this area, so the risk of contamination is low.
