It's great having the Mrs. riding along. She does "spoil" you with the chow. She makes a great supporting cast member in your video. I do remember when I was a young lad and neighbors to my extended family's farm in Southeast Kansas joined together to harvest the corn. When noon arrived, everybody would come in to the house for fried chicken and fresh corn. Even though I was too young to "help" in the fields, I sure wasn't too young to sit at the tables with all the farmers and helpers chowing down before heading back to the field. That meal was always one of the best.

Best statement ever, "we're just making it up as we go." You just answered your own question: Why do we guys keep asking for more? Because farming is all about winging it in your efforts to improvise, adjust, and overcome. Carry on Dude!

Hi Cale (Kale?). I found you via Laura Farms. I subscribed to your channel and will be learning a lot I'm sure as you and your sons bring the crops in. Nice to meet Laura's mom as well. What a blessing to have a close family. I found out that you grow male and female seed corn. I don't know how that works exactly as I thought a corn plant self-pollinates (the top sprinkling down on the the tassels). Or something like that. I need the birds-and-bees talk regarding corn. I'm looking forward to the rest of the harvest.

Memories of Pressing out bearings: We had a Ford New Holland dealership for years and one of my techs was also a local farmer. I would take back a hub or something that needed the bearing pressed out and he would reach into his small toolbox, pull out a large blunt chisel and a hammer. Either set the part on his vise or clamp, and tap out that bearing with the hammer and chisel before I could have walked across the shop to the press and got everything lined up to press it out. A lot of times we would use an impact socket as a bearing driver to tap out a bearing.

@@LEAADFarmsHow much extra does drying corn cost? And I believe that isn't a v-type sweep but rather a cutting disc like on a disc harrow. Btw, you and your wife have a great family. Excellent stock.

for your steak but a good cut, and put just salt pepper and garlic powder on it and set it in the fridge for an hour, then take it out and let it warm up for a bout 20 minutes. Won't be disappointed.
