My dad spoke 7+ languages. He's Haitian. Some people are just gifted. He spoke French, English, Creole, Italian, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Hebrew, & a bit of Yiddish. Don't ask - especially if you notice how random the languages are. He might have spoken more. He liked being to communicate. He even said that - the more languages you know the more you can speak to people & make relationships. So I guess in his head something clicked as a kid -- so he made sure to become literate in languages w/ people he's in contact w/ regularly.

That is awesome both of you speak so many languages. I only speak 2 1/2. Hahahahaha English, French, and I know a good bit of Japanese. A lot of people love telling me how Americans aren’t traveled. I would always tell them we are traveled but for most we are well travelled within the US. It is extremely easy to get to other countries in most parts of the world especially in Europe where countries are right next to each other. In the US depending on where you live Canada and Mexico are really far away plus every state in the union is in a small way its own country. Each state has its own culture, laws, accents/ dialects, and you can be in every environment. Beaches, mountains, desert, tundra, forests, grasslands. Hell some states have multiple in the same state like California
