After two months of building, Emily's dinghy was ready to sail.
In this video, Emily finishes sanding, varnishing, and the sail. Then we take it sailing, and show the happy ending and scenes from the entire process. Enjoy!
Watch the whole build here: • Emily Builds a Sailboat
Over the period of two months, Emily built a lightweight wooden boat, to be used as a sailing, rowing, and motoring dinghy for S/V Temptress. This model is a variation on an Eastport Nesting Pram (plans by Chesapeake Light Craft - CLCBoats.com). It weighs approximately 75 lbs, and is just under 8 feet long, made mainly of okoume mahogany.
We are incredibly grateful to Chesapeake Light Craft for sending us free plans for this dinghy ($89 value), so we could share the build process with our KZitem viewers. Thank you to Ed and the team at CLC!
