Well so have many people, the difference is for someone who has issues with social interactions and who may quite possibly be on the spectrum anyway, losing more than one significant role model at a very young age is going to have more significant and lasting impact because he doesn't really know how to deal with it and never has done. He's not a c***t at all no more than any of the rest of them, he's just different.

Tbh once Sheldon reveals his past traumas it makes the eccentricities/flaws of his character much more understandable, for instance: his reliance and attachment to Leonard, Amy and the rest of his friends . Especially since I doubt anyone could conpletely recover from losing their grandfather and father at such a young age.

A lot of Young Sheldon explains why he doesn’t like change. Pretty much whenever something changed for him, it was because of some sort of trauma. For example, he got his own room because Georgie dropped out of school and that caused a huge fight.

So a brilliant kid like Sheldon lost his pop pop, an uncle and his dad at an early age. Pop pop encouraged him to do science, when the rest of his family didn't. He was bullied and he didn't have any friends. Even his twin sister/older brother kinda picked on him. His dad died when he was fourteen presumably while he was away at college. He must have been very close to his dad since he always watched football with his dad from age 5-12 (even if he didn't like it). His dad clearly liked keeping Sheldon around him, since Sheldon kept his drinking a secret from mom or tried to. He watched his uncle get killed by a badger! A brilliant mind like Sheldon really didn't process things the way we do. His Christian upbringing probably didn't help his development. His mom just thought he was crazy and got him tested, but she could have thought about therapy for losing his grandpa/father so young. In a way, it's no wonder Sheldon has this huge attachment to Leonard/Amy/Penny now. Whether he sees it or not.

His mee maw's also supportive of sheldon but of course nobody really understood him. maybe pop pop was the only one who actually wanted him to pursue science because in his childhood the grown ups in his life seems to be very supportive of him

Sheldon loves his mee maw. Penny has a similar vibe as mee maw where she can challenge Sheldon head to head. Sheldon loves his Pop Pop and is basically another him. Sheldon x Penny is a ship, I rest my case. (Spoiler) In one of the episodes, Bernadette brought up how without Sheldon, none of them would’ve met but Penny will still end up being Sheldon’s neighbor. ;P Unpopular theory: In the beginning 1-3 seasons, Sheldon seems to have interest in Penny just like Leonard. The only difference is that Leonard talked to her first (since he was way more socially awkward) and realized his friend liked her so he ended up burying his feelings for friendship. Also, (spoiler) there was another episode where Penny told Sheldon a story of a time she regretted hiding her feelings about a guy she liked, then that guy got a girlfriend. Sheldon responds with “I’m the guy.” Although Penny tries to assure Sheldon it’s not him, we have already seen countless times that Penny is a terrible liar especially when she’s using personal stories as examples. I don’t know if this ruined anyone’s ship, but hi.

In some ways, I relate strongly with Sheldon. I was the youngest child (way before my little sisters came into the world to use me as their punching bag), and my older siblings weren't the sort of role models a youngster should have ... While they would sleep around, party all the time and will often do drugs and drink and that ... I realised at a super young age that I would rather be ' boring ' and go down the road where I can work with animals, have relations with someone I want to annoy for the rest of my life and have a happy life ... and besides my Great Grandma I called Nanny Lady, no one in the family really cared so deeply for animals like I do. So when everyone calls me Sheldon, I feel blessed, as he really has so much layers you have to peel in order to see a pretty epic dude :P

I thought I was the only one bothered by this! Not only should they get a saving throw but he was meta gaming and Leonard didn't even point it out! He just let it happen! And the other two didn't say anything either. I would've told Sheldon he was meta gaming and if he did it again there would be consequences. As sad as it is what happened to Sheldon he shouldn't bring personal feelings in a role playing game because he is not his character.

The Bay Brook Mall isn't in Galveston. It's in Friendswood, about 45 minutes away. I know because I used to work there.

So Sheldon, a man of science, continues to harbor a grudge against a fictional character for not bringing someone back from the dead? Ok. I mean, I know it was a rough childhood memory, but for how smart he's supposed to be that's kinda dumb.

I agree with Sheldon. I hate Christmas. A few years ago, someone I really loved and wanted to confess my feelings to left town without saying goodbye. I was so miserable, I wanted the world to die. It was one of the most miserable winters of my life and it has caused me to associate Christmas with my pain.

EarthHound I understand why you would associate but... I cry like a bitch every Valentine’s Day because I’m always single and yet I still don’t hate that holiday and associate with pain, so really...

The lesson of this story; Never play holiday theme games with some one who hates the holidays. You'll wind up with an unlucky leprechaun, Roasted Easter Bunny with scrambled eggs, and time that you'll never get back. MWA HAHAHAHA!!!!

Everyone talking about how sad this is there there is me who can't help but notice.....Sheldon broke the rules of D&D he never rolled to see if he was faster then his friends to cast the spell he never rolled to see if they were able to save themselves from his spell.

Baybrook Mall is in Houston. It’s close to the Galveston County line, and about thirty minutes from Galveston itself, but it ain’t in it.
