I lived there from July 1976- March 1978. I was age 7 -9. I learned some life lessons, and it was a nice place to live. I was an avid bike rider. Behind the houses on Viking, was called the small or little woods. There was a bike trail with constructed dirt hills. I ride a BMX and Mountain Bike currently, btw. The Big Woods had an outdoor pavilion with a log cabin across the road. I lived on the corner of Corsair, across the street from the Big Woods. At Winter time, people would sleigh down our back yard. As far as what you have documented, about the drums being buried full of some fluorescent material, I find that so irresponsible of the government. Despite that, most of us didn't reside in Shenandoah Woods for very long, as our father's transferred to other Military bases, but still, that's the way the government was handling things unbeknownst to us. We did enjoy ourselves, though, and it was very tranquil, and I like to think only of the good times we had there.

It happens, a lot of housing developments do shady stuff like this. Same thing happened to my old neighborhood in Langhorne. It looks like Warminster will buy this land eventually and hopefully expand the park out in this area, but there will definitely need to be some clean up involved. Thanks for watching! Seeing the development from the other side of the fence really interested me!

I lived on Corsair Drive in the mid 70's- I remember when they decided to pump asbestos insulation in and how it came out from the electrical outlets and light switches and everyone was sick!!!! But it was a great place to live other than that!

@@kdotwilly7935 It wasn't to make people sick. Asbestos insulation and siding was used a bunch during those times before anyone knew how harmful it could be.

With the Air National Guard Occupying a portion of the base and the number of reserve units in the Tri-State are with full time service members that housing area could have become privatized military housing like the rest of the military has gone to and they could’ve worked to resolve the issues and renovated those housing and now that the military is allowing DOD Civilians and retirees to live in military housing those houses would’ve been utilized.

I wouldn't worry about that too much. Asbestos siding can be harmful while working with it, like taking it down and replacing it. As long as you are not actively cracking and breaking it you should be ok. There are still plenty of houses in this country that have that siding. You just have to be extra careful when replacing it.

Hope you had fun! I have to admit it was kind of cool exploring the "ghost town" with my camera. Though I was looking behind my back a bunch because I didn't want to get arrested or anything.

I believe the last family to leave left in 2011 June due to the willow grove base shutting down as well, so its been almost 10 years!

Plenty of abandoned communities like this one, just thought this was interesting being in my hometown. Nature takes it back very quickly.

Dear Travis, I need yur help. How can I avail myself of the documents u show on this video. I lived there in the ninety. As soon as we moved in my son became extremely sick. Anyway I have had too many sicknesses to count . Hospital admissions on a yearly basis for almost 5 years straight. My daughter contracted cancer this past yr. 2019. I myself have had 2 surgeries. Am having new neurological problems now. I would like to give my Dr. these to review. What a revelation. Bless u look forward to hearing from you.

Warminster drinking water had been suspect for many years now, but this is just an independent video I've done myself and I'm in no way a medical expert in the matter, I'm just reporting what I saw and researched. I'm sincerely sorry for all of that you and your family had to go through.

Please contact Erin Brockovick who is investigating this same thing in Satellite Beach, Florida. Stel Bailey is a good contact, also. Fight for Zero group in Satellite Beach will have info. Many people and families near Patrick AFB have been affected since the 70s. PFAS and PFAS.

My dad was stationed there, we lived there on Skyhawk Dr. From 1974-1977 we were the first family to move in when it was brand new housing. I graduated from William Tennent Sr. High. It's sad to hear about this place.

It's torn down at this point and I assume someone is going to be re-purposing it eventually. I'm going to do a follow up video this year once I do a little more research.
