Some of his music was ment to make people cry, all of his music was very robato so you should always play it with as much emotion as you can, you play it how ever you feel. You can really tell that kousie plays very emotionally especially when he sees kouri and when she leaves...
@Keitillia

This song- this scene- haunts me. The way Kaori appears, beaming at Kousei. The way Kousei turns his head away from her, fighting back tears. The look on his face won't leave my head. His scrunched eyebrows and tightened lips. He knows what's going to happen to her. This show has so many dynamic levels and I think I finally understand. Throughout, you're led to believe that Kaori is this sort of sunlight- this star- and Kousei is merely there to support her or to contrast her brightness with his own dullness. Take him accompanying her, for example; he merely supports her and does not stand in the spotlight. But once you've seen this show all the way through, you know- or at least I do- that Kaori was supporting Kousei the entire time. Hell, we already know that she liked him from the start and that her entire reason for learning the violin was spurred on by Kousei's playing. The look on Kaori's face in this scene tells me everything. Regardless of her physical condition, and her prospective future- which at that point, she knew was bleak- she still stands before Kousei, smiling widely, almost in a comforting way. Like a, "hey, maybe this is tough, but that's alright". She's supporting him. His happiness is more important to her than her own condition. She plays for him to lighten his heart in this scene. And she forced him to play onstage which eventually helped him to recover from the trauma of his abuse and his inability to hear what he was playing. She rejuvenated him. This entire show is Kaori saving Kousei, rather than Kousei standing in the shadow of Kaori's beauty. And I think this song illustrates that perfectly- in a few wordless scenes.

I love how so incredibly close Kaori and Kousei are that Kaori could play with Kousei even as she was dying and in the hospital and Kousei on stage. They were so close that Kousei was able to have a final performance with her before she finally passed away. They had very little communication while they were playing, but they had conversation in the music! They did share their feelings for each other! They poured the love they had for each other into the music and that's why this music you hear is so incredibly moving; all because of a love that can't be spoken.

@@mn-yg9og This is one of Chopin's saddest pieces. It's a reflection of Chopin's loneliness during the war years. Another remarkable element of this piece is that although written in the Romantic era, the piece is written in a sonata form. It's terrifying, bone-chilling, and sorrowful, with sprinkles of joy. Honestly, Chopin was an eccentric pianist, but it's one of my favorite pieces to play.

Hugo Hoyos Kousei was surprised, shocked and began to cry when he saw her. She obviously wasn't an imagination, it was literally her soul. The moment she appeared before him, was the moment her heartbeat stopped. And he knew that. I'm always wondering why people don't know why he said "Farewell" at the end of his performance. It's not hard to see what's going on in that whole scene. Seems like some people are just not that perceptive...

At 7:20, when Kosei used to say "if I won, I thought you'd get better" about his sick mother, hoping his success would bring her joy and help heal her...you can hear the desperation on the playing. When he watches the phantom of Kaori on his mind during the mental-duet, seeing the life explode out of her chest, and seeing the horror on his face...you can tell a remnant of his youth was clawing out, some desperate measure, that perhaps if he plaed even a touch faster....or harder....did SOMETHING more, maybe it could stop it. They did very well in relaying the instinctive frantic subtlety.....a little too well.

Give us memories we never had, make us cry without knowing why, make us feel like anything is possible. It's beautiful.

what are you talking about? the violin part was slapped on there for the show. it's not part of the actual song. emotionally the scene works cause of the story, but looking at the song by itself the violin part completely overwhelms the song. they don't go together at all.

I’m gonna be honest. This one of the few anime’s that scares me and I will admit half way I was scared to watch it but I pressed on anyway since I felt like I needed to even though I had a idea it wouldn’t end in my favor. Now it’s the first anime to make me cry and now I can’t hear a piano or violin the same again. I’m good, but this anime will be very special to me as being very scary and sad.

I think it's a miracle that Kousei is alive in the last episode of Your Lie in April. If I was at the point of being in love with a girl that Kousei was at with regards to Kaori, and that girl died, I probably would have killed myself or simply went insane. So it's a miracle he was able to recover and live on in the last episode. The fact that the producers chose not to show how he managed to move on from Kaori's death is a lesson to us all: we are not going to show you this process because we are not going to pretend that there is some sort of magic recipe for dealing with immense pain. We all have to make our own journeys through it. But if Kousei can do it, so can you.
@gameman3981
2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, indeed it is. If that was a thing with me and I had known (or later got to know) that said girl saw me as someone she liked (whether it'd be in a romantic way, a platonic way or such doesn't matter) or would see me of someone that she would care about it if I died the only and I really do mean ONLY thing that would've stopped me from committing suicide would be the thought of the fact that "That's not what she would've wanted you to do." which is honestly a bit of a "guilt-trip" thing to me but whatever, that's completely besides the point.

I’ve always loved playing the piano. But now, I don’t think I’ll play it the same. This anime tore me apart. It’s not Kaori passing that did so. Or Kousei saying goodbye. For me, it’s the fact that they’ll never play together again. Their songs were beautiful. Every one nearly brought me to tears. I’d do almost anything to see these two play in person. Kousei gently striking each key, as Kaori dances about the stage, sliding a bow across the strings of her lovely violin.

I agree, and honestly after looking that up, i feel much better knowing that. However, since I am who I am, I must play the Devil's Advocate. It could be argued that the notes are singing, ringing out the sounds of their souls. They played w/ their hearts. I suppose that could be argued as singing? Ignore me it's late i'm tired. That part when Kousei says "pester me for canalays (excuse the spelling if wrong), call me just to waste time" just before she passes away, was one of the most heart breaking scenes of the whole anime. Because he knew, he just knew, and it was the saddest but most childlike and sincere little emotion from him at the end. I had tears just flowing. I still get like this now even typing it! Easily the most beautiful and powerful anime I've ever seen.

I just edited an AMV for your lie in April. It was my second time watching the series. When I initially finished the series, I felt empty. I felt so depressed and sad. When I watched this scene for the first time, I was crying so hard I didn't notice the small things. I didn't notice the short pans onto Kousei as he scrunches his eyes in pain depicting his realization that Kaori did not make it through her surgery. I didn't see Kaori's jubilant face as she played with emotion and her usual carefreeness. It's so hard to watch this scene when you realize the contrast between them. Because as it always was, she was the carefree one and he was the sad one struggling to catch up to her. In the end, she left without him. The fact that this music alone can make me feel this way. I watched a review of this show by some guy named Glass Reflection. He said that there was no song that could instantly remind him of the show and with it, a surge of powerful emotions. Boy was he wrong...
