From feedback from friends but no personal evaluation it seems that going to 12 spd is also hardly a discernable benefit. There's a reason why 11spd new and used parts are commanding silly prices and I believe that demand for it is higher than previous groups. The logic was, 'just because Shimano did not release a statement regarding a new mech version, they are discontinuing the old one' which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. And 105 Di2 is around $1000 for the full groupset from many euro online retailers, which is not cheap by any means but it is not as expensive as the ridiculous MSRP when it launched. Anyway - the history is: Aug 2021 Dura Ace and Ultegra 12sp announced, June 2022 105 Di2 12 sp announced. Its safe to assume that this will be formally announced by end of August. 0:39 Shame on Shimano for having the master link on backwards. No cable tongue under the rear mech cable adjuster either.
@yonglingng5640
Жыл бұрын
The tongue was never on 105 and below, but you can definitely add one yourself by using a cable liner with one end flared that goes underneath the barrel adjuster before you screw it back on. I've done this countless times on customers' rear derailleurs that don't have them.

Does anyone know if these will fit on 11 speed hubs? My old Cervelo has a 9 speed groupset and I've been thinking about upgrading to a 11 speed, but 12 would be better.

I'm using 12 speed 105 and Ultegra cassettes on all my 11 speed hubs. Fits & work great! I also have SRAM AXS mechs and shifters with an Ultegra crank. The best shifting I've had in years!
@stefanheidrich7340

Depends on the freehub body. There's 11-speed road and 11-speed MTB. The road body is app. 1.85mm longer than 11-speed MTB. 11-speed MTB has the same length as 8-, 9- and 10-speed. The 11-speed cassettes CS-HG700 and CS-HG800 (ratio 11-34) usually fit on the 8-,9-,10-,11-speed MTB body. If you prefer e.g. an 11-speed road 11-30 cassette, you either need to mill 1.85mm from the spider of the large cogs or source a cassette for MTB bodies (hard to find). Enjoy your ride!

Hey it's Shimano's own fault for letting Corratec get their hands on it.
@jimhansen5395

All bike manufacturers get this stuff in advance. They have to so they can develop and market their bikes with it. They are also told not to speak about it publicly. In this case, Corratec obviously broke a few rules. Good chance they won't get any advance distribution of future Shimano tech.
