Hey man, thanks for getting back to me, It's really appreciated. I was contemplating the Chronarch mgl, however this might do. I need to get one in my hands to see if I like the feel of it. Thanks again Kota and Happy Holiday's...!

No problem man! I like this one just a little more than a chronarch but I was just using my friends that day lol, the curado 150 mgl is a solid choice as well I think those are a little lighter as well, Happy Holidays! Hope it’s a good one

How does this compare to the SLX XT for casting 1/4 oz lures or weightless 6"-7"Senkos?

To me it’s a little smoother, and a little easier to cast, I was throwing a 1/4oz chatterbait, I do feel like I had to adjust this one a little more than the few xt that I have but the line wants to jump off the spool on the tranx, it’s still my most used reel this summer and fall so I recommend it, if you run braid don’t forget the backer lol spool is slick

I know the video is little older but looking to get a tranx for frogging and your video popped up in search..just to help ya out, you don’t HAVE to us backing. You can tie your normal knot to spool and use some tape where the bread can grab/bite onto and you’re solid. Just wanted to share if ya ever want full spool of braid. Reason people use backing is actually for saving line aka money since most braids are more expensive. Just passing along some knowledge big man.. God bless and good luck on catching a hawg..

Hey man thanks! I’ll take any info I can get, that’s a good piece. this and my 200 size is the only one I’ve needed to use a backer, I like 30#braid on this one for how I cast seems to be my solid line, I still love this reel though lol, good fishing and happy new year!

What is the size of the reel handle? I can't find any specs on it, the original 200 has a 100mm handle but this 150 looks like a silver curado 150 mgl which only as a 90mm handle unless it's an xg.

Size wise it is the same as the curado 150, I believe the slx tranx and curado all use same size. It’s definitely as comfortable as the 150 Mgl

Good look on the advice when I get mine in and spooled I’ll have them use electrical tape over the braid to prevent the slip

Yea we had to put some tape and it’s been great. My new favorite reel by far. Also I was running 30# braid and it’s just a touch to thin but 40 was mint

@@kickinitwithkota6866 I think the shimano website said it’s meant for 20lb braid which is what I plan on running with a 15lb lead.

@@blkaudiofan I seen that but Just seems to thin of line to me, but could also be me, I typically throw 12# floro on the larger part of my reels so 40# feels about the same lol

Sharpen your hooks

I was using a crosseyez chatter those hooks are usually awesome. I did discover after we left that the braid slip was horrible. The smallest of pulls would get the braid to move, went with the electric tape method and it’s been my favored reel from that day on. It even does better than my bantams and curados
