In a few minutes…DISASTER!! You can never be unprepared for the unexpected on the water. Everyone needs to be drilled in what to do when the unexpected happens. What a thing to see! Great work responding quickly!

Good video. As a captain I would say stay as far away from rocks and reef as practical. I see too often people skirting closer to rock than is necessary which may take away from precious minutes of time to resolve issues if the unforeseen happens.

Thank you. And absolutely - disasters are almost always a combination of factors and being close to shallow water is a big factor. Not necessarily a problem by itself, but when something else goes wrong…

I sail in the south pacifuc most years. Every year I see consequences like this. Last year in Fiji four boats lost, many more with impact damage.

When we were there a boat was destroyed on the reef outside of South pass Fakarava. Another boat hit the reef right by the airport anchorage in Tahiti. The boat in Tahiti was pulled off and repaired. Glad you were there to help rescue the crew

How in the heck did they get her off the reef? That's amazing the boat is still intact after the beating she got.

Absolutely. Didn’t see it personally but saw video of a salvager being able to pull her back out into deep water at high tide.

Well, all's well that ends with a beer. For me personally, yes, I'm glad the Fremchies survived, BUT my biggest joy is that their cheap Jeanneau (?) got refloated and towed away. Dozens if not hundreds never do, and the entire Caribbean and French Polynesia are littered with sunk boats. Owners crash them, get the insurance money and sod off home leaving their boats for the locals to deal with. As for you suddenly realizing the dangers... ABOUT TIME. I think I said that before, the SEA decides when you sink. But in your particular case I wouldn't worry. You entire expedition is NUTS, from start to whatever you will call finish. Total noobs on an ancient boat going straight across the Pacific... If you haven't drowned until now, the sea must love you bobbing about. That said, if you DO sink, PLEASE don't forget to leave the camera on.😀 PS Tell Jerome, Maloy said he shouldn't have been such a greedy merde and should've opened his wine cooler for his rescuers. Beer... MY FESSE!

Wow what an exciting episode the sewed I'm so glad everything turned out okay and everybody was safe. With the question of did you react in time or quick enough I think the way things played out it's better that you didn't get there any sooner. I do understand the feeling like you should have acted quicker you should have been there sooner that's a hard feeling to deal with but you were right you acted in time and did what you needed to . Wow that was amazing I'm so glad that the sailboat Nemo was okay and everybody inside was okay. I think you guys did a great job on this episode and I love the way you narrated it. Please have fun and stay safe and we'll see you next week
