If you like Uyghur folk music, you should check out Eysabeg's performances posted on youtube. Uyghur folk performance does not get any better than that. His voice is unbeliable!!! He obviously has a very deep understanding of folk music, which reflects the lives of people and centered on love and pain. When you listen to them, it should be able to bring alive the images of a homesick caravan on a long journey in an endless desert, a lover, a lost love, a homesick stanger away from home,

yes, DNA studies showed Hazaras and Uyghurs have closest genetic similarities, closer than other Turkic neighbors like Kazakh and Khirghiz. It is not surprising though,

Sorry, whatever it sounds like, this is a very typical Uyghur music and this Shirinjan is a very popular and well known Uyghur folk song. A nation's folk music can not be copy or adaptation of any other, it may can be a reflection of thier history. Some of yellow Uyghur folk music are amazingly same with Hungarian folk music. Actually this is one proof that one of Uyghurs' closest relatives are Hungarians.....

Uyghur folk music uses both pentonic and heptonic scale. Chinese music uses only the pentonic scale. The music performed here is not a folk music, it is pop music from 80's. The tempo is not latin, it is Uyghur, usually performed by rawap and dap (an Uyghur drum).

Do not listen to rithm, but to melody. One can make any rithm: rumba, rock, vals etc, but melody will stay. The music arranged in that a la latin way.

Duldul, I know you own this page. You keep connecting the Uyghurs to Hungerians. Uyghurs are one of Turkic tribes . And those proto Turkic tribes , probably mostly Kazakh did invade eastern Europe many times in ancient time. So there must be some thing in common with SOME Hungerians. That does not mean that Hungerians migrated to Tocharistan(ancient name for west rim of Xinjiang , in early Persian empire). Shirin Ja'n is Persian name-phrase. Shirin is girl name and its meaning is Sweet. in Torki of north east of Iran translate to ''tatli''. Ja'n: has two meaning 1- dear 2- life. In this case it means dear shirin or lovely shirin. There are LOTS of things in common between Uyghur culture and Persian. There were lots of exchanges from BOTH SIDES. And that is true in commonality in music also. Always cultures add to each other. Uyghur and Uzbek music is based on ''Un-eeki'' (12) Moghami , 12 mogham ( in Uyghur writing: عجم مقامی). There is one mogham in Uyghur music called ''e-jam''(in Uyghur writing: Ajam Maghami) This is the name Arabs called Iranians after conquer of Persia. The reason for all these writing is to show there are more things in common between Iranian and Uyghur culture than Uyghur and Hungerian. for example: read about ''Ka'rez or Qana't) I do not understand why there is such a boycott on the words: Persia or Iran even before the Iranian revolution. The other thing that I see on your cite is number of hits from Anatolian Turks. It amaze me how uneducated are the PAN-TURKISH individuals from Anatolia Turkey. They never concerned themselves to acknowledge how many innocent lives were lost due to cooperation of Government of Turkey with mercenaries of Israel and Anglo/American governments.
